Production has begun on the upcoming live action Peter Pan & Wendy film!
Disney+ announced that Yara Shahidi (Tinkerbell), Ever Anderson (Wendy), Alexander Molony (Peter Pan), Jude Law (Captain Hook) and Jim Gaffigan (Smee) have begun principal photography in Vancouver, British Columbia.
The upcoming movie is based on J.M. Barrie‘s novel “Peter And Wendy” and inspired by the original 1953 animated Disney movie.
Peter Pan & Wendy is the timeless tale of a young girl who, defying her parents’ wishes to attend boarding school, travels with her two younger brothers to the magical Neverland. There, she meets a boy who refuses to grow up, a tiny fairy and an evil pirate captain, and they soon find themselves on a thrilling and dangerous adventure far, far away from their family and the comforts of home.
“Peter Pan has long been one of my favorite stories, partially because I’ve always resisted growing up, but also because of the heart, adventure and imagination that makes J.M. Barrie’s original tale so evergreen,” director David Lowery said. “I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to redefine his iconic characters for a new generation – and even more excited that I get to do so with such an exceptional cast and crew.”
Peter Pan & Wendy will premiere on Disney+ in 2022 and also stars Molly Parker as Mrs. Darling, Alan Tudyk as Mr. Darling, newcomers Joshua Pickering as John, Jacobi Jupe as Michael and Alyssa Wapanatâhk as Tiger Lily.
Check out the new posters for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald!
Warner Bros. Pictures shared six new visuals from the second installment of the Fantastic Beasts series on Wednesday (October 10).
Here’s the synopsis: “At the end of the first film, the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) was captured by MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America), with the help of Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne). But, making good on his threat, Grindelwald escaped custody and has set about gathering followers, most unsuspecting of his true agenda: to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings.
In an effort to thwart Grindelwald’s plans, Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) enlists his former student Newt Scamander, who agrees to help, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead. Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided wizarding world.”
The film also stars Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Zoë Kravitz, Callum Turner, Claudia Kim, William Nadylam, Kevin Guthrie, Carmen Ejogo, and Poppy Corby-Tuech.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is directed by David Yates, from a screenplay by J.K.
