The 24-year-old actor’s real life father Mark Consuelos may be on the show, playing the adult Hiram of course, but that doesn’t mean he was a shoe-in for the role.
In a Q&A on the RiverdaleInstagram story, Michael shared a funny story about going to the audition for the part..
The 24-year-old actor will be playing the younger version of his dad’s character Hiram Lodge/Jamie Luna once again, while Mark will be playing his character’s dad Javier Luna.
Michael Consuelos is making his debut on Riverdale tonight and stopped by Live! with Kelly and Ryan to dish all about his acting debut on Wednesday (November 7) in New York City.
The 21-year-old actor, who is the eldest son of Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, opened up about playing a young Hiram Lodge on the popular series for the special flashback episode, airing tonight on the CW.
“I was so nervous, I never auditioned for anything before,” Michael shared. “I went there and there were a bunch of people who could’ve been brothers or cousins…it looked like a bunch of Michaels in the audition room.”
He added, “I thought that looking like my dad would be my way in, but everyone looked like my dad.”
