Katherine McNamara might’ve taken some things from the Shadowhunters set, however, she wants to be clear that she didn’t steal them.
“I did not steal anything,” the 23-year-old actress shared in a new interview with Zimbio. “I was fortunate enough to be given some things like a set of Clary’s knives and a few of her leather jackets.”
However, one of the most special things she was gifted at the end of filming was a “small, wooden art piece from Clary’s bedroom.”
Katherine explained, “Since Clary is an artist, she has this on display. After we shot the last scene in Clary’s bedroom, the camera crew signed it and wrote little messages and gave it to me.”
“These are the guys who are often the voiceless heroes who are working on a TV series. They are the guys who are on the ground, in the trenches with us, moving the cameras, making the magic happen over and over again. I worked with a lot of them and they taught me so much about the technicalities, cinematography, and film making.”
She added, “I will take that knowledge with me everywhere, and to have that keepsake from them means the world.”
While speaking to ET at the event, Kat had a special message for the fans of the show, which will wrap with a movie event in May.
“I have to say the biggest thank you and that you guys are the legacy of Shadowhunters. You will be the ones to continue on this love for the story and these characters with us, and that will never end,” Kat shared.
“Just because there are no more new episodes of the show, that doesn’t mean that this family, this beautiful, positive space for people to feel loved and accepted has to go away. That will continue to grow and exist and that is beautiful.”
FYI: Katherine wore an Adriana Iglesias coat with Christian Louboutin heels.
Freeform just announced a huge thing – they’re matching the Save Shadowhunters campaign’s donation to The Trevor Project!
While the campaign didn’t end up saving the show for the network, or even to get another to pick it up (we still have hope though), Freeform is going to match the fundraiser with $25,000 to donate to the organization.
The Trevor Project is the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer & questioning
(LGBTQ) young people under 25.
The series finale of Shadowhunters will wrap up with a two and a half-hour finale on Monday, May 6th, starting at 8PM.
Izzy and Alec work together in this new still from Shadowhunters.
In “To the Night Children”, as the saying goes, “rules are made to be broken.” But what if the rules are there for a reason? Several members of the team must examine the reasoning behind certain rules after consequences to questionable actions come to light.
Whether the rules were broken because of love, loyalty or revenge, does the end justify the means?
Shadowhunters airs TONIGHT, Monday, March 25th @ 8PM ET/PT on Freeform.
In a recent interview with TV Guide, the 23-year-old actress opened up about shooting the final scene of Shadowhunters.
“The last scene I filmed was not the last scene in the show, but in the series finale there is a scene in which pretty much everyone who has ever been on the show was on set,” Kat shared. “We’re all in the Institute and it was such a surreal moment for me because I remember the last shot so vividly. It’s a very emotional scene for Clary as well, so I was able to use a lot of my own tears on set – there was not a lot of acting happening that day, thank goodness.”
She continues, “But there’s a scene, I’m holding Dom [Sherwood]‘s hand, and I’m looking at him. You actually see the shot in the trailer. So I’m walking away crying – that’s the last shot I ever shot in the show. So I’m looking at Dom, and behind him is everybody.
“There’s Matt [Daddario] and Harry [Shum Jr] and Emeraude [Toubia] and Alberto [Rosende]. I’m looking at everybody and I’m looking at our family…and I have to turn and walk away from them, and that was the last shot I ever did for the show. It was so indicative and representative of where the journey’s been.”
The final season of Shadowhunters is airing Mondays on Freeform.
In “A Kiss From A Rose”, continuing to track down information on the rumors about misconduct at The Clave’s downworlder prison, Isabelle (Emeraude Toubia) asks Alec (Matthew Daddario) for help.
Meanwhile, Magnus (Harry Shum, Jr.) succumbs to asking Lorenzo for a favor and Jace (Dominic Sherwood) takes Clary on a special date.
