Bonnie Wright, Matthew Lewis, & More 'Harry Potter' Stars Speak Out After Alan Rickman's Death

Bonnie Wright has released a touching statement regarding the sudden death of her late Harry Potter co-star Alan Rickman.

The 24-year-old British actress, who starred as Ginny Weasley in the films, told JJJ, “As a young actor I was incredibly fortunate to have worked with Alan and be exposed to his graceful methods. He had that rare ability to shift the energy of a set the moment he walked on. I will never forget his deep, measured and theatrical voice. He will be missed by the Potter family.”

Meanwhile, Jamie Campbell Bower (Gellert Grindelwald), James and Oliver Phelps (Fred and George Weasley), Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom), Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy), and Warwick Davis (Griphook) also took to social media to share their memories of him.

Our thoughts remain with Alan‘s family and friends during this difficult time.

Jamie: “Devastated to hear about the passing of Alan Rickman. I had the pleasure of working with him on my first movie. A true legend and gentleman.”

Jason: “Sidestepped by the awful news today. The polar opposite of the icy, manipulating characters he became best known for, Alan was hilarious, warm-hearted and fabulous company. To witness his laser-like honesty and precision as an actor in the flesh was a rare privilege. A great artist and a lovely man.”

James: “Shocked & sad to hear Alan Rickman has passed away. One of the nicest actors I’ve ever met.Thoughts and prayers with his family at this time”

Oliver: “Terribly sad news about the passing of Alan Rickman. A funny and engaging person who put a shy young actor at ease when I was on HP.”

Matthew: “I was at Leavesden Studios today when I heard the news. As I walked through the canteen I thought of Alan queuing up for his lunch with us mere mortals. I recalled the trailer in which he offered me some of the greatest advice I ever received about this mad profession we shared. Being back in those corridors made me remember a lot of things and I will treasure those memories all my life. He inspired my career more than he ever knew and I’ll miss him.”

Warwick: “So terribly sad to hear of the passing of Alan Rickman. Honoured to have shared the screen with him. #Marvin #Snape He’ll be sorely missed.”
