AnnaLynne recently joked about going on a date with the University of Notre Dame mascot.
“Well I mean I also have some personal experience with that. I might have gone on a date with the Fighting Irish mascot. Yeah, so I might have a personal connection to a mascot. Well, technically he’s the mascot. He does both the Notre Dame football and basketball, so he’s a busy man, but he managed to squeeze in a date with me. The Fighting Irish! Being a girl with Scott-Irish background myself, I enjoyed that, but I might have had dinner with a fully dressed Leprechaun (laughs) in South End with snow falling down outside and it was funny, it was hilarious,” AnnaLynneshared.
International Women’s Day has been observed since in the early 1900′s and on Sunday (March 8), around 1,000 people showed up at the U.N. headquarters in New York City to speak up for gender equality.

“Happy International Women’s Day. Today I’m celebrating myself and the strong women I’m fortunate to have in my life. This year lets be better to ourselves, judge a little less and lift each other up a little more.I hope today you appreciate the unique person you are and share a little love with the bad ass chicks around you.” – Lucy Hale
“#Happyinternationalwomensday Love. It’s never being too old to sit on your Mama’s lap. And to these two beautiful, strong, courageous women- thank you for all that you are, and all that you inspire us to be. We are who we are because of you. We love you Mama(s).” – Nikki Reed

The two friends and activists joined others in celebrating International Women’s Day, which highlighted the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, a historic roadmap signed by 189 governments 20 years ago that sets the agenda for realizing women’s rights.
The Beijing Platform for Action focuses on 12 critical areas of concern, and envisions a world where each woman and girl can exercise her choices, such as participating in politics, getting an education, having an income, and living in societies free from violence and discrimination. – See more at: http://www.unwomen.org/en/news/in-focus/international-womens-day#sthash.MfnpU8Ou.dpuf

“Talking is so important. No More is about no more silence. I’m a sexual assault survivor. The first moment of my healing began when I said I was raped. It’s taken me that long to get to a place where I can stand here on the red carpet and not feel triggers and PTSD,” AnnaLynne shared. Watch the video below!
She added, “I wanted to get my power back, so I became sexier and more sexual. I took sexy roles. I did all these things trying to compensate for how much I felt was taken from me.”
