Jack The Giant Slayer is out on DVD this week and JJJ can’t wait to get our hands on a copy.
The film follows the ancient war between humans and a race of giants is reignited when Jack (Nicholas Hoult), a young farmhand fighting for a kingdom and the love of a princess (Eleanor Tomlinson), opens a gateway between the two worlds.
We’re giving ONE lucky reader a chance to win a copy of the movie on DVD, too!

Eleanor Tomlinson arrives at Esquire‘s First Summer Party held at Somerset House on Wednesday night (May 29) in London.
The 21-year-old actress is gearing up for the premiere of The White Queen on Starz in August.
“It’s a TV series by BBC and Starz in America and I’m really looking forward to it. It’s a period in history that hasn’t been covered that much, it’s pre-Tudor and we’ve done Tudor to death so it’ll be nice to see what came before that,” she shared.
Eleanor added, “It’s also told from the women’s point of view, so there aren’t really many battles. It’s all kind of fought in the courtroom and it’s fantastic.”
It was just announced that Eleanor‘s upcoming mini-series, The White Queen, will debut on August 10th on Starz.
Based on the novels by Phillipa Gregory, The White Queen is set in 1464, during the height of the War of the Roses, and tells the story of the women caught up in the ongoing conflict for the throne. The House of York’s young and devilishly handsome Edward IV is crowned King of England with the help of the master manipulator Lord Warwick “The Kingmaker.” But when Edward falls in love and secretly marries a beautiful young widow, the commoner Elizabeth Woodville, Warwick’s plan for control over the English throne comes crashing down around him.
FYI: Eleanor is wearing a Kate Spade New York dress.
Nicholas Hoult suits up in Tom Ford for the premiere of his latest film Jack the Giant Slayer on Tuesday night (February 26) held at TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.
The 23-year-old actor was joined on the green carpet by his co-star Eleanor Tomlinson.
The flick tells the story of an ancient war that is reignited when a young farmhand unwittingly opens a gateway between our world and a fearsome race of giants.
Unleashed on the Earth for the first time in centuries, the giants strive to reclaim the land they once lost, forcing the young man, Jack (Hoult) into the battle of his life to stop them. Fighting for a kingdom, its people, and the love of a brave princess (Tomlinson), he comes face to face with the unstoppable warriors he thought only existed in legend — and gets the chance to become a legend himself.
Nicholas Hoult, Eleanor Tomlinson and Ewan McGregor step out at a photo call for their new film, Jack The Giant Slayer, held at Hampton Court Palace on Tuesday morning (February 12) in London, England.
Eleanor, 20, and Nicholas, 23, recently sat down to chat with Collider about the fairy tale twist on the film.
“She’s a headstrong, fiery young princess who isn’t too happy being cooped up in the castle and she goes on these little escapes occasionally,” Nick shared of Eleanor‘s character.
Eleanor added, “She’s definitely not typical. That’s kind of what I love about her. She has this side to her, which is really fiery. She didn’t want to be a princess. She was just born into this life. As amazing as it is, it’s not necessarily what she wants. She feels a bit trapped, I think. Her relationship with her father, after her mother died, is coming under a lot of pressure, because he’s the king and he doesn’t understand her. She just wants to be a normal girl. She wants to fall in love for love, not for the kingdom. She’s got that temper, that spark about her, which is different from other fairy tales, I think.”
