Check out the new poster and trailer for After Earth!
In the film, it’s one thousand years after cataclysmic events forced humanity’s escape from Earth and Nova Prime has become mankind’s new home. Legendary General Cypher Raige (Will Smith) returns from an extended tour of duty to his estranged family, ready to be a father to his 13-year-old son, Kitai (Jaden Smith).
When an asteroid storm damages Cypher and Kitai’s craft, they crash-land on a now unfamiliar and dangerous Earth. As his father lies dying in the cockpit, Kitai must trek across the hostile terrain to recover their rescue beacon. His whole life, Kitai has wanted nothing more than to be a soldier like his father. Today, he gets his chance.
After Earth debuts in theaters on June 7th. Check out the trailer below!
The 16-year-old actress took the reigns for sister Madeline‘s debut music video, “Something Beautiful”.
JJJ had the chance to chat exclusively with Isabelle where she dished on the video and working with her sister. Check it:
JJJ: What were the best parts of filming “Something Beautiful?”
Isabelle Fuhrman: The best part was probably the scene where Jesy (our lead man) and Madeline are fighting the hotel room. It was a scene that I was really excited to shoot because it is where this toxic relationship ends. I started playing “Sweet Nothing” by Calvin Harris and Florence Welch and just let them fight! I was even yelling at a point to get their blood pumping! Several guests at the hotel where we were shooting thought that Jesy and Madeline were actually fighting and about to hurt each other. They sent security to our room and interrupted the take.
The strangest moment for me was definitely having to direct Madeline and Jesy when they were kissing on the tennis court! I burst out laughing on the first take because I felt like I shouldn’t be watching my sister kiss a guy. But after the first take I was OK, it just took a minute to sink in (laughs).
JJJ: What were the challenges of making the video?
IF: We actually got kicked out of the hotel we were filming in, because of the noise from their fight scene! It was a scary moment because we didn’t know if we were going to be able to finish the video, but we were all good. One of my friends came to the rescue and helped us out!
JJJ: Will you be directing anything else in the future?
IF: Yes! I will be directing Madeline’s next music video. This one will be completely different but definitely Beautiful! I would love to direct a full length feature in the future, but I’m still learning how to be a director, reading books, making mini movies at home, and just practicing, so when the time is right and I find a script that I love, I will definitely jump on the opportunity!
