Jacob Elordi Admits This Really Bothered Him About the First 'Kissing Booth' Movie

Jacob Elordi is opening up about the first The Kissing Booth film, and something he really didn’t like.

In a new interview with Men’s Health, the 23-year-old actor shared that he didn’t like the attention on his body and physique.

“At the time, I was super young and got thrown into a world where everyone wanted to talk about my body… it really f–king bothered me,” Jacob said. “I don’t identify with that whatsoever. I was trying to prove myself and be known as an actor. It was so much working out and I hated every second of it.”

“I trained extensively for the first film, because it said it in the script,” he remembers. “I was so terribly nervous that I wouldn’t be what the script wanted me to be.”

Jacob added that his fitness regimen for the first film had him in the gym seven days a week, twice a day. He also admitted that he didn’t train for the TKB2 at all.

Jacob Elordi Reacts to Claims He Was Miserable While Filming 'The Kissing Booth 2'

Jacob Elordi has some news for fans – he was NOT miserable while filming The Kissing Booth 2!

After the trailer for the sequel was released earlier in the month, many fans claimed he looked miserable, and that he didn’t want to be there.

Jacob recently opened up about those claims and insists he had no issues.

“No, no. I have a resting miserable face!” he told Access. “You know what it is? It’s because I’m usually thinking a lot, like, an insane amount about something ridiculous. I think also, [my character] Noah is a moody dude, you know? He’s a moody guy. He’s not running around [super happy]. I wasn’t miserable, I was tired but not miserable. I had a blast.”

“It was cool. I came straight from — literally, I finished Euphoria and then got on a plane and flew to Africa [to film The Kissing Booth 2]. So that was a dramatic shift mentally. But there was a nice calm in going back to [The Kissing Booth] and being able to settle into something I knew how to do and knew what to expect and had friends around, you know?” Jacob added. “I was so exhausted the entire shoot because I had just come off of eight months of filming then flew however many hours to Africa — I never really woke up. I just got through it.”

Jacob did have this to say though about playing high school roles at his age…

Will There Be a 'Kissing Booth 3'? See What the Stars Say!

The Kissing Booth 2 has been out for just one day and it’s of course already a big hit!

At the time of this post, the sequel is the number one title in the US on Netflix, AND The Kissing Booth is even the number nine movie in the US.

If you’ve seen the movie, you already know that the surprising ending was kind of left on a bit of a cliffhanger, leaving open the possibility of another movie.

Netflix has yet to announce if a third movie is happening, but fans are yearning for more, and so are we!!

Stars of the movie, Joey King, Joel Courtney, Jacob Elordi and newbies Taylor Zakhar Perez and Maisie Richardson-Sellers, are all dishing on the possibility of a third film, but not all of them are exactly on board…

“Well, me and the cast have been talking and we want that so bad and we’re kind of relying on the fans to help us out,” Joey previously said. “They loved the first one so much and they’re the reason that we got a sequel. So if they love this one and they make it known to the world and to Netflix, our fingers are crossed that Netflix will give us a third movie because that’s what we want really badly.”

“So many of these things end with cliffhangers, you kind of leave it up for interpretation,” Jacob told ET about TKB2 being the end. “Myself personally, I don’t know what I’m doing after this phone call, so [I'm] not sure how to answer that… I have no idea.”

She’ll have to juggle a long-distance relationship, getting into her dream college with her best friend Lee (Courtney), and the complications brought on by a close friendship with a handsome, charismatic new classmate named Marco (Taylor Zakhar Perez).

When Noah grows close to a seemingly-perfect college girl (Maisie Richardson-Sellers), Elle will have to decide how much she trusts him and to whom her heart truly belongs.

Jacob Elordi Says Playing High School Roles Is 'Taxing'

Jacob Elordi Says Playing High School Roles Is 'Taxing'

Jacob Elordi is ready to move on and play more adult roles!

The 23-year-old recently opened up about playing high schoolers and the overnight fame from The Kissing Booth.

“It was super intense for a little while,” Jacob told GQ Australia. “Overnight you couldn’t really go anywhere, but it’s been two years now and it’s died down considerably. So maybe the next one comes out and it’ll be bad again for a little while, but I think it’s all relative.”

“Nothing against that but I’ve sort of done it and it would be really hard for me to find joy in that. I’m also getting older now, and I’m starting to look older, so to keep going back to high school is kind of taxing,” Jacob added about the younger roles.

“After Euphoria, the coolest shift happened,” he continued on moving to more adult roles. “It put me on the radar, that I could maybe act, and it allowed me to sit down with these guys whose work I admire – they knew my work and they had enjoyed it. So I could have these really adult, creative conversations with like-minded people.”
