Kodi Smit-McPhee is all smiles at the premiere of his new flick, ParaNorman held at AMC CityWalk on Sunday afternoon (August 5) in Universal City, Calif.
The 16-year-old actor told EW, “It’s pretty ironic and funny that I always get these kind of dramatic, sad, kind of low-down movies that are really intense, I guess. But I don’t mind. I think it’s good to get those types of movies, ’cause they’re the ones that stick with you.”
Kodi was joined on the carpet by costar Jodelle Ferland, who voices Aggie.

Jodelle Ferland plays up the patterns as she arrives at the 2011 Genie Awards Gala at the National Arts Centre on Thursday night (March 10) in Ottawa, Canada.
Like many others, the 16-year-old actress has expressed interest in the role of Katniss Everdeen, which is looking to go to Jennifer Lawrence.
Jodelle told Movie Mazzupial that she would love the chance to play her: “Any sane 16-year-old girl would be interested in the role of Katniss, but we’ll see. It would make my life (complete) if I could have that part. I love the books. I’m a big reader and read pretty much anything I can get my hands and those books are amazing. To get that part would be amazing. I believe they’re still auditioning now and they might go older or they might go younger, but I have my fingers crossed.”
JJJ Fun Fact: Jodelle actually dressed up for Katniss for Halloween last year!
Jodelle Ferland laces it up as she steps out at the premiere of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse held at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles on Thursday evening (June 24).
The 15-year-old Canadian-born actress, wearing Romona Keveza, caught up with MTV about getting to read the new novella, “The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner.”
Jodelle shared with MTV, “I was so lucky I got to read it [the novella] before I started filming so that I could know a lot more about Bree because I knew almost nothing about her. Bree, she’s definitely not like all the other newborns. They are kind of driven by their thirst — they’re newborns, that’s typical behavior — and inside, she doesn’t really want to be a bad person, she’s willing to change her ways.”
Meet Jodelle Ferland, one of the newborn vampires in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.
The 15-year-old actress says of her character, Bree Tanner, “She’s part of the army of newborn vampires and she’s on the bad side, but she doesn’t want to be. She’s forced to be and doesn’t understand it, but it going along with it.”
Jodelle continued, “It’s sad because even though she’s on the bad side, she’s a victim. She wants to be good, but no one gives her a chance.”
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse opens June 30th.
