Louis Tomlinson is 110% Focused On His Debut Album Right Now

Louis Tomlinson is still working hard on his debut album.

In a new interview with BBC Radio 2, the “Miss You” singer opened up about his dedication to the album and putting out a record that his fans will be proud of.

“I’ve written a lot of songs and I need to give 110 per cent to who I want to be as an artist and get that right before I venture into anything else,” he shared.

Louis adds, “I’m happy with the sound of the record and the production, it’s exciting for me to have more guitar and live elements. Conceptually it’s about being in that routine, going over the same day over and over again, some days it’s fun and some days it’s not so fun.”

Louis‘ debut album is due out in 2018.

Radio Host Leaves Social Media After Insulting Louis Tomlinson & Directioners With On-Air Comments

Australian radio host Ash London is signing off of social media for a little while after receiving a ton of backlash from enraged One Direction and Louis Tomlinson fans.

The 2DayFM presenter ignited controversy after joking about Louis‘ facial hair before playing their prerecorded interview on the radio.

“Kind of like ratty facial hair,” she described Louis on the air to her co-host.

“He’s not Harry Styles basically. He’s the least popular one,” added co-host Ed Kavalee.

Ash received backlash on social media – to the point where she made her Twitter private before issuing a statement.

“I am a music fan. I love that it brings so much passion out in people. This morning on air we had a great interview with Louis. As always — he was a total legend. I loved talking about how far he’s come, his new music and his future which looks so bright. We love Louis and will continue supporting him and his new music as we have always done.”

Louis then responded to this message: “Probs best to stay on private for a bit longer love!” along with a middle finger emoji.

“I’ll be off socials for a bit – the abuse and threats are a little much for me right now,” she then wrote in a second post.

Louis Tomlinson Explains Why All His Songs End With 'You'

Louis Tomlinson has released three singles so far in his solo music career — “Just Like You”, “Back to You”, and “Miss You”.

In a new interview, the musician admits that at first it was really just a coincidence.

“We did kind of flag it, and asked if it was a problem that all of them ended in ‘you’,” Louis shared. “But I kind of like it.”

He adds, “Across the story of the album, it makes sense. It’s also a nice reference to the fans as well.”

“I wrote this song about a time in my life when I was going out partying every night,” Louis said in a statement. “In hindsight throughout that time I was pretty numb and just going through the motions. Deep down it was always in the back of my mind that what I really missed was the girl that I loved”

Louis Tomlinson Admits He Feels Pressure To Be As Successful as One Direction Was

Louis Tomlinson is about to drop his next new single, which he revealed was the closest to his heart — however, that doesn’t mean he still doesn’t feel some pressure.

Speaking to BBC Radio 2, the “Miss You” musician revealed that there is a certain amount of pressure on him as he kicks off his solo career, after coming from a mega successful band.

“I think it’s more pressure. We set a bar with 1D and there’s a certain expectation but I think that’s what drives all of us and it helps having that pressure there,” he shared.

Louis also shared that it’s really different for him being on his own: “There’s certain moments where it does help to share the load, like with interviews, even if it’s excitement, you definitely notice in those moments and on the road I’m sure it helps.

“From a writing perspective it’s easier to go ‘right this is who I am’ as opposed to ‘this is who we are’ and fit four or five different references and tastes.”

Next week, it will have been one year since Louis Tomlinson sadly lost his mother, Johannah Deakin, to cancer.

The “Miss You” singer spoke with Metro earlier this week about how he’s doing a year on and how her legacy still lives in him.

Louis revealed that before going on stage at the Royal Variety Performance a couple of weeks ago, he had “a little word with myself.”

He adds, “I think, ‘I have got to make her proud.’ It’s those things that really keep me going. It’s been a crazy 24 months and a hell of a lot to deal with for someone of my age.”

“Enormous tragedies affect people in different ways. I’m lucky that my mum brought me up to be pretty thick-skinned. There is never any time in my job to sit and feel sorry for myself. I always want to keep going and keep fighting,” he shared.

Louis continues, “At times it is as difficult as it possibly could be…It genuinely makes me a stronger person and creatively it gives me so much depth. I think I am coping as well as I could do, to be honest.”

This weekend, Louis will return to The X Factor stage for a performance of “Miss You” — something he did last year with his debut single, “Just Hold On” a week after Johannah had passed.
