Louis Tomlinson Got Help From Simon Cowell During a Pretty Scary Moment

Aww, we love how much of a father figure Simon Cowell has become to the One Direction guys!

The reality TV judge and producer recently shared a story about a time Louis Tomlinson‘s nerves got the best of him before a show.

“When somebody goes a little bit crazy, my way of dealing with things is to deal with it straight away, face-to-face,” Simon told Billboard about the incident. “I sat him down and went, ‘Look, we’ve all been there, I’ve been there. You’re in a fantastic place right now.’ … And then we laughed it off, he sent me a very nice text afterwards and from that moment we had this incredible bond.”

Simon also revealed that he told Louis – the last of the guys to launch his solo career – not to feel too much pressure and to “always be true to yourself with the music.”

Louis and I, you know, we’ve got this very close bond,” Simon elaborated. “When we heard about this current record, I remember calling him and going, ‘Louis, this record is special’ – and I could not be happier.”

“Actually, with all the boys, if I’m being honest with you,” Simon added. “They’ve worked for this. But yeah, you do feel a little bit like a proud dad when you see all five of them doing well now.”

Simon put Louis, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, and Zayn Malik together in a group after they all auditioned individually for The X Factor UK in 2010.

The day the world was changed forever.

Louis Tomlinson Reveals His Solo Album Is Very 'Conversational' & 'Honest'

Louis Tomlinson is spilling more and more secrets from his forthcoming solo album and we are living for it.

During rehearsals for the Teen Choice Awards, where he performed “Back To You” with Bebe Rexha, Louis opened up to Billboard about having really honest songs on the track list.

“The album in general is just very honest and conversational,” he says. “In the early sessions I’ve had, a lot of songwriters love to write about fairytales and situations that just don’t really feel like the bands that I grew up listening to. They speak very matter-of-fact and honest, and I think that’s cool and that’s interesting.”

Louis adds, “Although the fans know loads about me, they’ll definitely learn a bit more after the album.”

He also shared that working on a solo album has helped him become more confident in his skills.

“I just feel like I’m getting stronger and more confident with each single,” Louis adds. “I’m definitely still learning as a songwriter and an artist on my own as well.”

Louis Tomlinson is hard at work in the studio on his forthcoming album, and while we know a little about it, we don’t know enough.

“I’ve got maybe eight songs that I’m really, really happy with,” he shared. “I think there will either be one more to two more singles before the album.”

Speaking with 92.3 AMP Radio, the “Back To You” singer revealed that the only guy he’d absolutely, 100% trust to babysit his son Freddie would be Niall.

“I don’t know who I would least trust to be quite honest because actually, all the boys are quite good with kids, honestly,” Louis shared, however, Niall is the one he trusts the most.

“I’m going to go off what I’ve seen and I’ve seen Niall with little Theo quite a lot, which is his brother’s baby, so I’m going to go with Niall,” he says.

“Hopefully, he doesn’t let me down in this theoretical plan. I haven’t seen Liam — I’m not saying he’s not great, I’m just going off what I’ve seen!”

Simon Cowell Says One Direction Without Harry Styles 'Wouldn't Be the Same'

Simon Cowell Says One Direction Without Harry Styles 'Wouldn't Be the Same'

Is a One Direction without Harry Styles a possibility in the future?

Simon Cowell, who created the band back in 2010, says it’s definitely possible, but “it wouldn’t be the same.”

“You know, it’s fun being out there on your own, but what I hope is going to happen is that they remember now how much fun it was being in a group,” Simon told The Sun. “I always believe that you don’t make rules, you break the rules. So there’s nothing to stop them, if they want to, getting together for a tour, for an album.”

“I made it absolutely clear, obviously, ‘We’re in,’” he added.

Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, and Harry all went their separate ways and embarked on their own solo projects just over a year ago.

Louis has recently revealed the the guys are still his “best mates,” and in May, Harry said he “wouldn’t rule out” a reunion.
