In EW‘s final diary entry leading up to The Vampire Diaries finale, Nina, who played Elena Gilbert and Katherine Pierce, opens up about saying goodbye for a second time to the series.
“This goodbye feels different than it did when I left the first time because I was leaving and the show continued, and now the show’s ending for everyone,” she says. “It feels more final. It’s more almost like closure.”
Nina adds about the feel of the set closing down, “Everyone’s been very nostalgic; it’s a bittersweet ending. I’m very happy that we were able to make it work and that I came back because I really missed the whole family and wanted to be part of the final goodbye. It really has felt like the closure that I needed — that hopefully everybody needs — and I think it ends in such a beautiful way that everyone will be happy.”
What does Nina hope for the future for everyone? “So much has changed for all of us. When I look back at everybody and see how everyone’s changed in such a positive way and grown into such beautiful adults, it’s great and it’s also kind of sad.”
“I’m going to miss everybody but hopefully once everybody moves back to L.A., we’ll continue to hang out.”
“If there was a category for Most Turnt Up, @cheeklane and I would definitely win gold this weekend. #SVBDay,” Nina captioned a fun photo booth pic of herself and her friend Lane Cheek at the event (below), which took place during 2017 Oscars Weekend.
In this first look via TVLine.com, we see that Nina plays “Courtnee,” a vet student looking for a boyfriend.
“I love animals, hanging out with my family, and going outside,” she says. “I’m looking for a nice, normal, super hot day just to have fun with. I take care of sick puppies all day, so I don’t want to date one.”
Workaholics airs Wednesday, March 1 on Comedy Central.
