'Riverdale' Casts Mark Consuelos' Son Michael as Young Hiram Lodge

The younger version of Mark Consuelos’ Hiram Lodge on Riverdale will be played by none other than his own son, Michael!

It was announced at Comic-Con that the CW series will be doing a flashback episode this upcoming season, which will feature the cast, like KJ Apa and Lili Reinhart, portraying the younger versions of their parents, like Luke Perry and Madchen Amick.

Michael will take on the role in this episode, TV Insider reports.

“Bucket list moment for Mom and Dad,” Mark shared on Instagram along with a photo of the duo. “Congrats to my son Michael on being cast as the younger (and much better and handsomer) Hiram.. We are so proud. Love you MJC #riverdale #bucketlist.”

Riverdale season three is currently filming and will premiere in October on The CW.

'Riverdale's Luke Perry & Skeet Ulrich Reveal More About That Flashback Episode

Earlier this month, we got the scoop on the true flashback episode that will be happening in season three of Riverdale.

Now, hot dads Skeet Ulrich and Luke Perry are giving us even more intel on what the episode will feature.

“There’s a secret that they are harboring,” Skeet, who plays FP Jones, tells EW.

Luke, aka Fred Andrews, added, “There is something in the past for Fred and for a few of our parental characters that we’re going to get to, and I don’t necessarily want anybody to know about it. Everybody’s got their secrets, right?”

The episode will see the younger actors playing their parental counterparts: Lili Reinhart, who plays Betty, would be portraying her mom Alice; Cole Sprouse would be FP; KJ Apa would be Fred and Camila Mendes would play Hermione.

Riverdale season three is currently filming and will premiere in October on The CW.

Over the weekend, we saw a ton of deleted scenes pop up from Riverdale season two, since the DVD set was just released.

However, this one, with Choni (aka Cheryl Blossom and Toni Topaz) might just be the best one yet.

In the video below, there are about four clips with Madelaine Petsch and Vanessa Morgan that never made it to the small screen – but, we’re so glad that they’re living on the DVD.

If you missed it, check out the first official pic of Choni from the upcoming season three, which is currently filming in Vancouver.

Bughead Are Pretty Solid During Season 3 of 'Riverdale' - For Now, At Least

Jughead Jones and Betty Cooper are one of the most beloved couples, and certainly one of the most talked about, on television right now.

So, it’s for sure that they won’t break up again, right? Well, maybe…

Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa told reporters during the Summer TCA Press Tour that the Riverdale couple, played by Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart, were solid, for now.

“On some level, I can say that we never, in the writers’ room, say, ‘OK, today we’re going to break up so and so,’” he says. “We follow the story and the story tells us a little bit. And we kind of follow that. But right now, I think they’re pretty [solid] — especially Bughead. Bughead is pretty solid.”

However, there’s always talk about the iconic love triangle between Betty, Archie and Veronica, which originated in the comics.

“I don’t think that love triangle is ever completely settled,” he added. “It’s a long journey — these kids are still in high school. … We hope this is a long journey on the show.”

Riverdale season 3 will premiere this October on The CW.

A 'Riverdale' Spinoff Might Be In The Works

A 'Riverdale' Spinoff Might Be In The Works

Another Riverdale spinoff just might be in the works, it looks like.

During today’s Summer TCA Press Tour panel for the series, showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and CW president Mark Pedowitz chatted about the possibility of one that would stay on the CW, unlike The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, that will premiere on Netflix in October.

The details of the spinoff are still being sorted out.

“In terms of spinoffs out of Riverdale, I’m waiting to hear what Roberto has in mind. He has something in mind,” Mr. Pedowitz shared.

Roberto added, “We’re really excited but we’re still early on in the process. It will be very different from Riverdale.”

The possible spinoff could have a slot in the 2019-2020 season.
