Lili Reinhart Stands Up For Shannon Purser After Bughead Fans Come After Her

Lili Reinhart Stands Up For Shannon Purser After Bughead Fans Come After Her

Lili Reinhart has had enough with the online bullying towards Shannon Purser.

In a new tweet, the 23-year-old actress stood up for her Riverdale co-star who was on the recieving end of a lot of hate from Bughead fans.

The hurtful words spawned from last week’s episode, where Ethel (Purser) told Jughead (Cole Sprouse) that he had to kiss her in order to get the “scripture” for G&G.

How that little peck didn’t sit well with Bughead superfans and Shannon was on the unfortunate side of a lot of hate – something that Lili is 100% not cool with.

Madelaine Petsch Never Wants Cheryl & Toni To Break Up on 'Riverdale'

Madelaine Petsch Never Wants Cheryl & Toni To Break Up on 'Riverdale'

Madelaine Petsch might just be a bigger Choni shipper than the fans because she just admitted that the on-screen couple should never ever break up.

Talking with Glamour, the 23-year-old Riverdale actress opened up about how the relationship has changed Cheryl for the better.

“I never want them to break up. I just think they’re the best,” Madelaine says. “I don’t know if that’s a weird thing to say, because of course it’s more interesting to keep things shifting. But the beautiful thing I’ve noticed is that Cheryl has grown so much just having known Toni for those last eight episodes [of season two].”

She continues, “Toni’s helped Cheryl show such a vulnerable, beautiful, open side of her. And now that Cheryl has that vault open, I don’t want it to ever be closed.”

“I think if she and Toni ever broke up, Cheryl would become a monster,” Madelaine adds. “If people thought she was bad at the beginning of season one, Cheryl would be a nightmare. Think about this: This is the first time she’s ever been in love again after her mom called her “deviant’ and kicked her love out of the house and out of her life.”

“Cheryl’s been pushing this down for so long, she’s ‘finally letting herself live her truth. This is such a big moment for her still. I think she’s very excited about it. And you come into season three seeing her in a really positive and strong relationship, which I think is so important for them.”

Riverdale airs Wednesdays on The CW.
