Duck Dynasty star Sadie Robertson opens up to NKD magazine how her life took and unexpected turn and how she handles it.
In the revealing feature, Sadie credits her dad with helping her stay grounded after her family’s 2012 show Duck Dynasty took off.
“When I was little, my dad would always call me ‘The Original,’ and he would make sure that I understand what that means,” she tells NKD. “How I’m originally created to be who I am, and not to waiver or change if anything in the world changes.”
The world changed so dramatically, she even landed a spot on primetime reality show Dancing With the Stars in 2014.
But 19-year-old Sadie insists she still lives a “Hannah Montana” lifestyle, balancing a normal life in West Monroe, Louisiana, with her crazy famous life.
Find out more about Sadie, including what her life purpose is, in the November issue of NKD.
Just the night before, Sadie was joined by mom Korie and sister Bella at the premiere I’m Not Ashamed at the Belcourt Theater.
“Such an honor to be a part of an absolutely incredible movie. Rachel Joy Scott, you truly did start a chain reaction. I can’t wait to see it in action. #imnotashamed,” Sadie wrote on Instagram that night.
Sadie Robertson hits the stage during rehearsals for her 2016 Live Original Tour at Bridgestone Arena last week in Nashville, Tenn.
The 19-year-old Duck Dynasty star just kicked off the tour in Dallas at the Allen Event Center with a “Movie Night” theme and a living-room vibe on stage.
“This isn’t about me, I’m doing this for a bigger purpose,” Sadie said. “Tonight was INCREDIBLE. God is moving in the hearts of people tonight. I see a near revival in our generation. It’s time to shine our lights in a world of darkness. I’m excited to be alive today.”
The Live Original Tour features personal stories of adversity and touches on issues teens and young adults face today, such as cyber-bullying, body image, depression, anxiety and more.

The 19-year-old Duck Dynasty star confirmed that she’s dating Texas A&M quarterback Trevor Knight.
“We’ve been dating for three weeks, so it’s super chill,” Sadie told ET. “He had messaged me because he goes to Haiti every year on a mission trip and he saw that I go to Haiti. We just kinda connected through that, very much friends at first.”
She continued, “Trevor lives in Texas and he was messaging me, and I was like, ‘Uh, do you want to go to a Justin Bieber concert with me? Because I don’t have anybody to go with.’ And he was like, ‘Sure.’ So, he came and I guess we just hit it off.”
