The cast of The Bold Type are super talented, so it’s not really surprising to know that they’re all musical as well.
In the last episode, we got to see Jane (Katie Stevens), Kat (Aisha Dee) and Sutton’s (Meghann Fahy) musical skills with some karaoke, and we want more.
In fact, Katie says that the entire cast wouldn’t say no to an actual musical episode.
“I’m totally on board for a musical episode,” she told TV Guide. “I think that Freeform — it would be a bad move if they didn’t utilize it because all of us sing. All of us can pretty much carry a tune…”
She continued, “Melora [Hardin] was on Broadway, Meghann was on Broadway, Aisha has a band, Matt [Ward] can carry a tune and so can Stephen [Conrad Moore]. Every single one of us can carry a tune, I just think that we have to do it.”
We’re all in agreement that Jane and Pinstripe (real name Ryan) are meant to be on The Bold Type, right? Right.
Katie Stevensopened up about the duo’s relationship in the new season and admits that Jane is kind of afraid to pursue something real with him.
“I think what’s interesting is Jane has always put Pinstripe in a box because she has always thought that he is the dangerous, unstable thing,” Katie says. But on the contrary, her new relationship with Ben “represents adults, stability, has a job that’s secure, is charming and kind, and a doctor. It’s a package that’s wrapped in a neat little bow, not that it doesn’t come with complications like we saw [in the] last [episode].”
She continues, “I think that Jane is afraid of Pinstripe. If she ever was to let herself give into that situation, what would happen? She tends to go with structure. That’s even more so since everything else in her life is up in the air. She needs to be with somebody who provides structure.”
“They will, without fail, always have chemistry,” Katie emphasized about Janestripe. “That’s what’s so dangerous about him, especially her being in this relationship. There’s no way she doesn’t still have feelings for him.”

In “Stride of Pride”, Jane finds a job posting she thinks she’d be perfect for, but her response to the job sparks a difficult conversation with Kat about privilege.
“We’re dealing with privilege,” Katie Stevens shared with EW about the episode tonight.
“It’s important [to cover],” she adds, “people who are white have a lot of privilege and sometimes they’re not aware of that.”
“To have this scene where Jane, even though what she’s saying is just coming out of her because of frustration and she doesn’t really mean it, [it's] a lesson in awareness and being aware of the privilege that you have.”

In “OMG”, Jane (Katie Stevens) crosses paths with Pinstripe (Dan Jeannotte), who inspires her to try a new style of writing. Meanwhile, she learns something new about Ben (Luca James Lee), her new doctor love interest.
Meanwhile, Adena (Nikohl Boosheri) reluctantly brings Kat out to meet her friends, and Kat (Aisha Dee) quickly immerses herself in the New York lesbian scene; while Sutton (Meghann Fahy) fights for an in with a well-connected influencer.

Meanwhile, Jane (Katie Stevens) follows around a cute and altruistic doctor named Ben for her latest article; and Scarlet’s newest board member, Cleo, causes Jacqueline (Melora Hardin) to defend her role at the magazine.

The 25-year-old actress and show’s cast – Aisha Dee, Meghann Fahy and Melora Hardin – stepped out for the Monte Carlo TV Festival on Saturday (June 16) in Monte-Carlo, Monaco.
Katie recently spilled on her character Jane’s love life and it looks like she’ll be getting not one, but two chances at love!
“She writes a story about this doctor who specializes in low-income patients and women…You’ll see them sort of build a romance,” Katie told Bustle.
She added, “You’ll also see Pinstripe come back, and you’ll see them try to cultivate a friendship, but they have undeniable chemistry, and how will that work?”
We can’t wait to see!

While promoting season two, cast members Katie Stevens, Meghann Fahy, and Aisha Dee revealed that their characters will be showing off their singing skills in an upcoming episode in season two.
The ladies weren’t able to give away too many spoilers about the upcoming episode but did reveal that the majority of the cast actually features really good singers – and now we’re hoping for full on musical episode in season three!
