Luke Benward Dishes On Possibly Playing John Ambrose in 'To All The Boys' Sequel

Luke Benward Dishes On Possibly Playing John Ambrose in 'To All The Boys' Sequel

In To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, the role of John Ambrose was played by Jordan Burtchett – but for the upcoming sequel, it seemed like the role was going to be recast.

But is that the case?

The fan fave to take over the role is Luke Benward, but even he doesn’t know what’s happening and he admitted he was messing around with fans about it.

“There’s nothing to it right now,” Luke told ET. “I just like playing with people. People were getting excited about it, I thought might as well instigate a little bit. (Laughs.) Yeah, I’m an antagonizer. I have been since I’ve been a little kid, so sometimes I can’t resist.”

However, Luke isn’t ruling out the possibility.

“Yeah, absolutely. I’ll be honest, I don’t really remember John Ambrose,” he says. “I’ll probably have to watch the movie again but like I said, I’d love to work with my boy. We’ll have to see how it shakes down, but I’m not opposed to it.”

Plus, we’d get Luke and Noah Centineo in the same movie. We wouldn’t say no to that either.

Here’s hoping we hear something soon about the role!

“I love when Lara Jean and John Ambrose go to the [nursing] home,” she shared about the scene she needs to have in the script.

Lana adds, “I love the snow… that moment when John Ambrose and her are in the snow playing. When I read that, it was romantic to me. Every little girl thinks about a kiss in the snow with someone that they might like. For me, I would love [it] more than anything ‘cause it’s romantic and cute!”

Lana Condor Says A Brand New Love Interest Will Be Coming In Between Lara Jean & Peter in TATBILB Sequel

Lana Condor Says A Brand New Love Interest Will Be Coming In Between Lara Jean & Peter in TATBILB Sequel

Things are going to be changing in the To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before sequel, according to Lana Condor.

In a new interview with Elle, the 21-year-old actress revealed that John Ambrose coming into the picture isn’t going to be an issue at all. instead, there’s a brand new love interest coming in, stirring up trouble with Lara Jean and Peter.

“There’s going to be a major new love interest,” she shared. “The first one was with Josh and Peter, but in the second movie it’s going to be a major new character that’s going to challenge Peter quite a bit and fight over me, which is not a bad thing.”

Lana adds that this is “not a joke, it’s very real.”

“I do know that we’re working really hard to find someone that’s perfect and just as charismatic as Peter, which is hard to do.”

Now, we’re already 100% scared!

Noah Centineo Wants Peter Kavinsky To Be More 'Vulnerable' in 'To All The Boys' Sequel

Noah Centineo Wants Peter Kavinsky To Be More 'Vulnerable' in 'To All The Boys' Sequel

The sequel for To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before was officially confirmed just a few weeks ago, but Noah Centineo already knows what he wants to see from the movie, especially from Peter Kavinsky.

“I think Peter could be more vulnerable and jealous,” the 22-year-old shared with EW. “He’s not a super evolved person, so there’s always more to explore and develop.”

He’s also game for a little healthy competition with John Ambrose.

“I want people to get behind John, I want people to get behind Josh [Israel Broussard], I want people to get behind all the characters,” he adds. “I would like to see fans bicker about it and have it be like the whole Edward Cullen-Jacob thing [from Twilight]. I love that.”

For Lana Condor, she’s hoping for Lara Jean to show off her confidence.

“It’s in her nature to not be confrontational, so when people are mean to her or things happen to her that aren’t necessarily great, I think sometimes she’s just like ‘Okay well I guess that’s life,’” she says.

Lana adds, “What would be exciting for me is for her to stand up for herself a little bit more.”

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before is streaming now on Netflix.
