Ed Sheeran Performing at 2012 Olympics Closing Ceremony

Ed Sheeran jams out at Nova’s Red Room on Thursday (August 2) in Sydney, Australia.

The 21-year-old musician — who will be performing at the 2012 Olympics closing ceremony — told Nova FM that he’ll be collaborating with Pink Floyd!

“I’m playing the closing ceremony which I think is kinda cool right? A lot of people think that I’m doing a song with The Who but I’m not — I’m doing a song with Pink Floyd. I’m doing ‘Wish You Were Here,’” he shared.

But…Pink Floyd says they’re not playing.

“In response to press speculation, Pink Floyd state that the band is NOT performing at the Closing Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games,” the band said in a statement.

Celebrating 50 years of British music, confirmed performers include The Who, Kaiser Chiefs, Take That, George Michael and Emeli Sande.

We can’t wait to see Ed performing, regardless of who with.

FYI: Ed is playing his Martin guitar.
