Daniel Radcliffe Previews 'Cripple of Inishmaan' on Broadway
Daniel Radcliffe takes a bow with his cast mates during the first preview of The Cripple of Inishmaan held at the Cort Theatre in New York City on Saturday night (April 12).
The 23-year-old actor stars as the title character in the funny and tragic play, which follows a young, disabled Irish orphan named Billy (Radcliffe) as he dreams of a brighter life in Hollywood.
“It’s not just about putting on a mechanical thing,” Daniel shared with the NY Daily News. “It’s as much about the mind-set as the physical aspects. I was never going to say no to playing such an amazing character, but I’m aware that there are disabled actors out there that would love to play this part. People out there really live with this condition. The pressure to do something authentic is something I really feel.”
