Simone Biles & Gabby Douglas Lead US Women's Gymnastics Team To Third World Title
Gabby Douglas, Simone Biles, and Aly Raisman celebrate after the scores were announced during day five of World Artistic Gymnastics Championship held at The SSE Hydro on Tuesday night (October 27) in Glasgow, Scotland.
The three gymnasts — along with team mates Margaret Nicholas and Madison Kocian — are celebrating their first place win, ahead of China and Russia.
“The girls did their jobs. We went out there and had fun with it. It comes from all the practices we’ve done. We’re so prepared for this,” Simone shared afterwards. “We came into it mentally stronger. We were like, ‘OK, we’re actually really prepared for this, maybe even over-prepared, so let’s go and have some fun.’ I think that’s what we all did.”
Aly added about being on a team with Simone, “Simone has so much energy, my God! We try to figure out what her secret is. We all look up to her. She’s amazing. I love to train with her because she always pushes me to the next level.”
It's official – @Simone_Biles becomes the first female gymnast to win three straight World all-around titles! She finishes with 60.399.
