Alessia Cara Never Thought Her Music Would Resonate With Anyone But Her

The 19-year-old “Here” singer spoke with BBC after her set, opening up about how her album and music have resonated with fans.

“It first started off as things I wanted to talk about that came from my head – and things that I went through and dealt with,” she shared. “I never really thought that people would relate to them the way they have. It just made me realise how much we’re all alike.”

Alessia added, “When I first started making the album I wasn’t sure if anyone was going to hear it and I wasn’t sure if it was ever going to come out. Once I put it out and realized people were resonating, it kind of made me realize this music isn’t for me anymore, it’s for everyone else.”
