Nina Dobrev Could Possibly Return For 'Vampire Diaries' Series Finale

Nina Dobrev could possibly be returning to The Vampire Diaries for its series finale.

“There are discussions going on with Nina,” CW president Mark Pedowitz shared during the 2016 Summer TCA Tour on Thursday (August 11). “We’d love to have Nina back. She was great for The CW. She was integral for The Vampire Diaries.”

He added, “We’d love to have Nina back. She was great for The CW, she was integral for The Vampire Diaries and these are discussions that go on,” he said. “Hopefully she’ll be back, but should it not work out, Julie [Plec, showrunner] has planned a great finale that will satisfy fans.”

Nina, who played both Elena Gilbert and Katherine Pierce on the CW show, left the series during season seven.
