Gina Rodriguez Opens Up About 'Deepwater Horizon': This Film Is About Lives We Lost
Gina Rodriguez sticks her tongue out while stopping by AOL Build to chat about her new movie Deepwater Horizon on Monday (September 26) in New York City.
The 32-year-old actress also stopped by GMA that morning to discuss the impact of the real-life explosion that occurred in 2010 in the Gulf of Mexico.
“She was one of the only females on the oil rig during the explosion,” Gina said. “I feel very, very grateful to be able to play her … but this film is about the human lives that we lost. It’s about celebrating them and paying a tribute to them because during the oil spill, we were very familiar with the environmental crisis. We were very familiar with those images of the oils in the water and the animals covered, but we never talked about the lives that were lost, the 11 lives that were lost.”
FYI: Gina is wearing Sandro dresses for both appearances.
