Shawn Mendes Sings 'In My Blood' in Portuguese For World Cup 2018

Shawn Mendes is paying homage to his Portuguese heritage in a brand new version of his hit song, “In My Blood”.

The 19-year-old singer’s father is actually from the Algarve region of Portugal and Shawn is 100% rooting for Portugal to win the trophy.

“I will believe! That we are going to make it, that we are going to conquer,” a translation of the song goes. “We are Portugal. A single voice and heart!”

Shawn also opened up about his excitement for the annual world soccer tournament, which will be held in Russia this year.

“I follow Portugal and England because of my parents, who are from the two countries,” he explains. “In the World Cup I’m always cheering for Portugal and Cristiano Ronaldo, who is my favorite player and probably one of my biggest inspirations.”
