'AGT' Golden Buzzer Singer Amanda Mena Says 'Thank You' To Her Bullies - Here's Why

Amanda Mena is living on cloud nine right now after getting that Golden Buzzer from Mel B on America’s Got Talent this week.

The 15-year-old powerhouse singer wowed the judges after performing Aretha Franklin‘s “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman”.

“I really couldn’t believe it,” Amanda shared after getting that golden buzzer spot. “I kind of blacked [out] for a second. I was like, ‘What is happening? Is this real life?’ I cherish that moment a lot.”

She adds, “It feels awesome. I admire Mel B, and I think just being her Golden Buzzer, it kind of connects me to her more. So it’s kind of awesome.”

Amanda revealed during her audition that when that she moved to the U.S from the Dominican Republic, she didn’t speak English, and that made her the target of bullies.

Now though, she’s sending them a thank you. For what? “”Because they taught me a lot.”

She added, “I can learn a lot from the people that don’t like me so much, and from that I can get stronger.”
