Storm Reid Calls For Action to Keep Families Together

Storm Reid dons a floral dress while attending the #unstereotype initiative partnership announcement held at the 2018 Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity on Tuesday (June 19) in Cannes, France.

The 14-year-old actress was joined by Simon Fuller, Aline Santos, Christina Miller, and Samhita Mukhopadhyay at the event.

Storm recently shared a message about her younger self inspired by Ava DuVernay, and talked about families being torn apart at US borders.

“This little girl loved life. Loved having fun. Loved mac and cheese, sandwiches without the crust, and sweet potato pie. Most importantly she loved her siblings with all her heart. She loved her parents with all her heart. She loved her family with all her heart. She still does,” Storm wrote.

“The thought of being pulled away from my family, even now, is horrific. So imagine how more than 2,000 kids and parents are feeling. I’m sad. I’m enraged. I’m disappointed but I’m not surprised. We have to take action NOW. Since our ”leaders” are using CHILDREN as a negotiating tactic for more injustice and inequality and not doing anything about it. We have to put a stop to this ASAP.
