Adam Rippon & Mirai Nagasu Chow Down on Cheeseburgers for New DSW Campaign!

Figure skaters Adam Rippon and Mirai Nagasu are remembering their Olympic ups and downs!

The bronze medalists have partnered with DSW for a new campaign to inspire self-expression and remaining true to who you are.

“I’m excited to partner with DSW and Mirai on this campaign about confidence and self-expression,” said DWTS winner and LGBTQ activist Adam. “I’ve always been a fashion risk taker, so it’s a perfect fit. I love the idea of being able to show my different sides and personalities through my style. Shoes are a huge part of that.”

“I grew up as a tomboy, but figure skating has made me appreciate the nuances of both art and style,” said Mirai, the first American female figure skater to land a triple axel at the Olympics. “I enjoy dressing up now. I’m all about trying new things, new looks, and new shoes, which makes this DSW partnership such a natural fit.”

The duo have been close friends for 11 years now. Four years ago, they were eating burgers on Mirai’s roof after both missing out on making the 2014 Olympic Games. For the new campaign, Mirai suggested a reenactment of that moment – complete with fries and coordinating sneakers! “This is full circle. We’re celebrating! These are celebratory cheeseburgers,” Adam shared.

Adam and Mirai will host a free DSW Block Party at the 34th Street store in New York City on June 27 from 4-7pm EST. The campaign will appear throughout the summer across DSW’s social and digital channels, as well as on Adam and Mirai’s social media channels.
