Kathryn Newton & Justice Smith Bring 'Detective Pikachu' To Tokyo

Kathryn Newton wows in a red gown while arriving for the premiere of Pokémon: Detective Pikachu held on Thursday (April 25) in Tokyo, Japan.

The 22-year-old actress posed for pics with co-stars Justice Smith, Ryan Reynolds, Ken Watanabe, as well as the film’s director Rob Letterman.

Japanese actors Marie Iitoyo and Ryoma Takeuchi, who are the dub voice actors for Justice and Kathryn’s characters for the Japanese release, were also seen on the bright yellow carpet.

The flick centers on a young man (Smith) who joins forces with Detective Pikachu (Reynolds) to unravel the mystery behind his father’s disappearance. Chasing clues through the streets of Ryme City, the dynamic duo soon discover a devious plot that poses a threat to the Pokémon universe.

The film is slated to debut in the United States and Japan on May 10th!
