Melissa Benoist & David Harewood Say Goodbye as 'Supergirl' Comes to an End

Melissa Benoist and David Harewood are sharing their thanks and saying goodbye on the night their show Supergirl airs it’s series finale.

The two actors have been starring on the show from the beginning. Melissa of course plays Kara Danvers/Supergirl, while David has been portraying J’onn J’onzz/Martian Manhunter, as well as Hank Henshaw/Cyborg Superman.

Melissa and David are two of three who are credited to have been in all 126 episodes of Supergirl, along with Chyler Leigh. Though they weren’t in every single episode, because they are series regulars, they were still credited for every episode.

The two stars took to Instagram ahead of the finale to express their thanks and gratitude.

“happy finale-ing to all tonight, from the Danvers sisters’ couch to yours. ♥️,” Melissa wrote on her account. “thank you to every incredible person who ever played a part, however big or small, in making this show tick. ♥️ we accomplished so much and I’m so proud of all of us.”

“thanks most of all to each and every one of you who saw us through and watched to the very end. hope you love how our story ends,” she added.

David wrote, “Todays the day in the US that we’ll see the Martian Manhunter on the small screen for the final time. It’s been a great honour playing J’onn these past 6 years. Thank you to all the people who made it possible, thanks to all the fans for the wonderful messages and thanks to a great cast of friends and crew that were with us over the years. Maybe one day I’ll suit up again sometime. Many many thanks to all. 🙏🏾”
