Julie and the Phantoms‘ Savannah Lee May and AGT winner Darci Lynne Farmer star as siblings in the new movie.

A Cowgirl’s Song is a coming-of-age drama that follows an aspiring but adrift teen singer (May) who goes to live with her grandmother, once a country music legend, but has fallen on hard times after the death of her husband five years earlier. Together they overcome adversity and find redemption through their love of music.

The movie also stars Cheryl Ladd, with original music from Maggie McClure and Shane Henry (also known as The Imaginaries).

This also marks Darci Lynne‘s feature film debut!

Directed by Timothy Armstrong, A Cowgirl’s Song will be released in theaters and on VOD on April 22nd.
