'The 100' Kills Off An Original Character (Spoilers)!
WARNING: Spoilers Ahead! Do Not Read If You Haven’t Watched!
A major death happened last night on The 100, and we had to say goodbye to Jasper, played by Devon Bostick.
A part of the original 100, Jasper made a big impact when he was speared in the chest during the first season.
Although he survived, he dealt with PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) in every episode since then. Initially, Devon‘s Jasper was only supposed to be a minor character that died in the pilot but his fate was changed due to the cast and crew liking his character so much.
During the third season, Jasper went through a depression after Maya died and develops a grudge against both of his friends, Monty and Clarke.
He made several attempts to drink himself to death, but fought against it.

Earlier in season four, Jasper tried to kill himself with a revolver but upon learning that there was another nuclear apocalypse coming, he decided to live out his life and disregarded any of his actions, believing that since they were all going to die soon anyway that he won’t be around to reap the consequences.
In “The Other Side”, Monty was trying to save all of the Skaicru who stayed in Arkadia, including Jasper.
He had one last talk with Monty before he died from overdosing on a drug he concocted — committing suicide.
While suicide is never the answer to anything, Jasper is living in a far enough away future on the show. Depression and his PTSD played a huge part in Jasper’s mindset, where drugs were the only outlet for his pain.
