One Of Ashley Tisdale's First Acting Job Was With Penny Marshall

Ashley Tisdale took to her Instagram Stories after hearing of the passing of Penny Marshall.

The actress and producer fondly remembered that one of her first acting jobs was with Penny on Saturday Night Live.

“I’ll always remember one of my first jobs on TV as one of the kids in a SNL Christmas sketch with Penny and Whitney Houston,” she wrote. “Fast forward to last year when I saved her dog, Freckles, from being hit by a car in the street.”

Ashley added, “Penny, I loved your work, thanks for inspiring me all these years!”

If you don’t know, Penny was known for starring in classic sitcom Laverne & Shirley to directing Big, Awakenings and A League of Their Own, among many others.

She made history as the first woman to direct a film that grossed more than $100 million.
