Nia Sioux Couldn't Walk Months Before Filming 'Dance Moms'

Nia Sioux is opening up about her personal health battle.

The 18-year-old actress just revealed that months before starting Dance Moms, she was in the hospital, unable to dance or even walk!

Nia was diagnosed with a rare pain disorder Reflex neurovascular dystrophy that required months of grueling physical therapy and exhaustive coping sessions.

“I don’t share this story much but the summer before the show came, I was diagnosed with RND and I was in the hospital the whole summer so I wasn’t dancing. So while everyone was improving during that pivotal summer, I was in the hospital, not even able to walk,” Nia told YSBnow.

She added, “You have to really focus and get yourself into the mindest that you can do it. Having that experience definitely taught me to work twice as hard.”
