Gina Rodriguez is stepping out for a good cause, just days after her engagement news!

The 33-year-old Jane the Virgin actress teamed up with Always to support their #EndPeriodPoverty campaign on Tuesday (August 7) at P.S. 142 in New York City.

The new campaign works to donate feminine products to underprivileged females.

“The first day of school is a big day for girls around the country. Many will start a new school year filled with opportunities and possibilities. But some girls will skip school on their first day, their first week, or sometime in their first month – not because they are sick, but because they don’t have access to period products,” Gina explained on her Instagram.

She added, “Join me in the cause by posting a #throwback photo of yourself from childhood using #EndPeriodPoverty and @Always_brand – Always will donate an additional month’s supply of pads to a girl in need via Feeding America.”

Gina Rodriguez is revealing some very happy news!

The 34-year-old Jane the Virgin actress and boyfriend Joe LoCicero are engaged, she spilled on Tuesday (August 7) to Us Weekly.

“I have a very, very special man in my life. I am engaged. You’re the first people that I’ve told,” she revealed.

“It’s wonderful blessings like that, that make me realize that if I have an opportunity to help someone else, I want to,” she further explained.

Gina is currently working with Always and Feeding America to donate feminine products to underprivileged females.

Gina and Joe met in 2016 when he appeared on an episode of Jane the Virgin.

The 34-year-old actress is engaged to her boyfriend Joe LoCicero and she showed off her large engagement ring during a vacation for her birthday. Us Weekly confirmed the happy news.

Gina shared a photo of herself wearing the ring and captioned it with a Frida Kahlo quote: “They thought I was a Surrealist, but I wasn’t. I never painted dreams. I painted my own reality.”

Gina also posted several photos on her Instagram Stories, including one of her and Joe with the ring in sight.

Gina Rodriguez is heading to Avalor!

The Jane The Virgin actress will be lending her voice to Elena of Avalor in an upcoming TV movie.

Gina and Prince Royce will play twin sirenas (mysterious underwater creatures), Princess Marisa and Prince Marzel.

In “Elena of Avalor: Song of the Sirenas”, Elena (Aimee Carrero) travels to Nueva Vista, a place that she used to visit when she was a child, and reconnects with her cousin Duke Cristóbal, who has been keeping watch over the city. While there, she encounters a group of mermaid-like sea creatures called sirenas and learns about their complicated history with humans. In an attempt to make amends, Elena befriends the sirenas and enlists their help to defeat evil sorceress Shuriki (Jane Fonda).

Rosario Dawson, Edward James Olmos, and Rita Moreno also guest star as sirenas, while Hamilton‘s Javier Muñoz guest stars as Elena’s cousin Duke Cristóbal in the special.

Gina Rodriguez is sharing the secrets behind her successful career!

During an interview with Forbes magazine, the 33-year-old actress said that it’s important for people to truly believe that they belong in the field they wish to pursue.

“This is where it begins, even before the challenges are thrown at you,” Gina said. “So many of the people I encounter, who are going through the challenges of being discriminated against, first have to tell themselves that they are deserving to enter these arenas as producers. Or enter rooms with heads of studios.”

Since landing the lead role in Jane the Virgin, the door to tons of other possibilities have opened for Gina.

“You need to push through no because the only way to success is through failure. By not allowing it to stop you,” Gina explained. “It is really just about constantly pushing through. Those that are not allowing no to push them into a different direction or path will eventually get a yes. It is true for anything you want to do in life.”

Gina Rodriguez is pretty in pink at the Empowered Women’s Brunch!

The Jane the Virgin actress stepped out for the event, powered by Variety, at the W Hollywood on Monday (May 21) in Los Angeles.

Gina paired her pink ensemble with white booties.

She was joined by her Jane the Virgin co-stars Yael Grobglas and Jaime Camil, the show’s creator Jennie Urman, as well as Dear White People‘s Logan Browning, Black Lightning‘s Nafessa Williams, Sophia Bush, Jillian Michaels, Nazanin Mandi, Jeannie Mai, Renee Olstead, Olesya Rulin, and more.

The brunch was held to celebrate the accomplishments of dynamic women in business, activism, music, fashion, and beyond. Benefitting Dress for Success, the event donated professional wardrobes in honor of each Empowered Brunch honoree accompanied by a financial donation to the local chapter of the organization.

“Be a woman who is for women,” Sophia shared on Instagram along with a photo of herself and Gina. “Sisterhood is irreplaceable, y’all. Having this one cheering from the audience while I spoke today?
