Alton Mason is kicking off his acting career with a big role!
It was just announced that the 23-year-old model will play Little Richard in the upcoming Elvis film, from Baz Luhrmann, Deadline reveals.
Little Richard was a legendary musician with most of his music being released from the 1950s to the 70s. Some of the songs from his catalogue include “Long Tall Sally,” “Tutti Frutti,” “Keep A-Knockin’” and “Good Golly, Miss Molly.”
Richard passed away from bone cancer in May 2020 at age 87.
Elvis covers the seminal legend’s growth from dirt poor singer to global icon, seen through the prism of his complex relationship over two decades with manager Colonel Tom Parker.
Alton joins quite a cast, which includes Austin Butler as Elvis Presley, Tom Hanks as Colonel Tom Parker and Olivia DeJonge as Priscilla Presley, as well as Dacre Montgomery, Helen Thomson, Luke Bracey, Natasha Bassett, Richard Roxburgh, David Wenham and Kate Mulvany.

The Riverdale star teamed up with more of your favorite stars for the campaign, which celebrates the launch the brand’s newest Instagram account, Converse Style (@converse_style).
It also features Sabrina Carpenter, Taylor Hill, Selah Marley, Alisha Boe, Alton Mason, and Rowan Blanchard.
In the photos, the celebs show off their Chucks in their own unique way – Sabrina incorporated them into her character on The Goodwin Games, Alton wears his to dance class, and Taylor roughs hers up at Coachella.
“I got my first pair of grey Chucks and I was like, ‘I’m not going to do white, I’m not going to do black, I’m doing grey because they’ll match with everything,’” Sabrina told Just Jared about wearing her own shoes in her fist pilot. “And they did, I wore them until they had holes in them and they were my favorite. I remember I made � because I was filming one of my first ever pilots when I was 13 and I was so in love with those shoes � that I made them let my character wear those as her shoes on the show. Because I was so comfortable in them and I was like, the only way I’m going to be comfortable is if I can wear my favorite grey Chucks.”
