The 19-year-old Shadhowhunters starlet was just named a “Champion” for GirlUp!
In her new role, Katherine will help to raise awareness and funds for UN programs that provide girls around the world with life-changing opportunities like the chance to go to school, see a doctor, and stay safe from violence.
“I’m honored to be involved with Girl Up,” Kat shared. “They put their heart, soul, and intelligence into their work and make a real difference in the lives they touch. By encouraging girls worldwide to step up, they are not only affecting this generation, but creating a positive influence on future ones as well. I have such admiration for this campaign and everyone involved.”
Girl Up supports the empowerment of girls everywhere and since its launch in 2010, the campaign has funded UN programs that promote the health, safety, education, and leadership of girls in developing countries and built a community of nearly half a million passionate advocates.
Katherine, along with Arden Cho and Amanda Steele are also pictured below at the Desigual fashion show during Fall 2016 New York Fashion Week: The Shows held at The Arc, Skylight at Moynihan Station on Thursday (February 11). Arden also stopped by the Jay Godfrey presentation earlier in the day.

We caught up with star Arden Cho about what we can expect now that Kira’s darker side is starting to show.
“The skinwalkers looked terrifying in last weeks episode, but Kira is not going to be taken down easily,” Arden told JJJ. “She’s ready to fight and prepared to do whatever it takes to protect her friends.”
Arden added, “Kira’s made the tough choice to face her fears and try to take back control. I love that Scott (Tyler Posey) is supportive of Kira in the midst of all the chaos and I think this will really strengthen their relationship and bring them closer together.”
