The night before, Ariana was honored as Woman of the Year at the Billboard’s Women in Music event, but that wasn’t the only special thing to happen!
Ariana‘s grandma, Marjorie “Nonna” Grande, decided that she was going to get a tattoo with her!
While Ariana got a moon inked on her hand, Nonna opted for the word “Ciccio,” which is an Italian translation of Frank, the name of her late husband.

Ariana Grande gave an extremely emotional speech while accepting the Woman of the Year Award at tonight’s 2018 Billboard’s Women in Music event.
During the speech, the 26-year-old singer held back tears while talking about her rough year, including breaking off her engagement from Pete Davidson.
“This is really special. I want to say that I find it interesting that this has been one of the best years in my career and one of like the worst years in my life,” Ariana said.
“I’m just saying that because I feel like a lot of people would look at someone in my position right now I guess; Woman of the Year, an artist that could be at her peak, reaching her you know, whatever, and think, you know, ‘She’s really got her s–t together; she’s really on it; she has got it all,’” Ariana continues. “I do, but as far as my personal life goes I really have no idea what the f–k I am doing,” she candidly shared. “So yeah, it’s been a very conflicting one. I just want to say if you’re someone out there who has no idea what this next chapter is going to bring, you’re not alone in that.”

Back in November, Billboard named Ariana their 2018 Woman of the Year!
“Ariana Grande is a star on her own terms, never bending to any particular musical trend or path in the industry,” Billboard‘s exec Ross Scarano said at the time. “Certain in her convictions, she consistently stands up for herself and her decisions in a world that often isn’t hospitable to that sort of strength in young women.”
FYI: Ariana is wearing Le Silla boots, a Yvan Tufenkjian choker, and Le Vian ring.

Ariana Grande opened up about a lot of things in her new cover story with Billboard – boys, splurges and best of all, her new album.
In the feature, the 25-year-old singer revealed that her next album has the working title of Thank U, Next and isn’t “particularly uplifting” at all.
Ariana adds, “A lot of it sounds really upbeat, but it’s actually a super sad chapter.”
One song in particular is called “7 Rings” and the story behind it is super cute.
“It was a… challenging fall day in New York,” she shares. “Me and my friends went to Tiffany’s together, just because we needed some retail therapy. You know how when you’re waiting at Tiffany’s they give you lots of champagne? They got us very tipsy, so we bought seven engagement rings, and when I got back to the studio I gave everybody a friendship ring.”
Ariana adds, showing off her ring, “That’s why we have these, and that’s where the song idea came from.”
Ariana Grande is on the cover of Billboard!
The 25-year-old entertainer was named the magazine’s Woman of the Year and she gave an interview about her life today, standards as a pop star, and more. Here’s what she shared…
On finding comfort in creating music: “I guess there’s not much I’m afraid of anymore….When life tries you with such serious sh*t so many times, your priorities change. I don’t give a sh*t. I just want to be happy and healthy — one day — and make music.”
On refusing to abide by pop-star expectations and continuing to record new music: “I don’t want to do what people tell me to do, I don’t want to conform to the pop star agenda. I want to do it on my own terms from now on. If I want to tour two albums at once, I’m going to tour two albums at once. If I want to drop a third album while I’m on tour [in 2019], I’ll do that too! Please. [“Thank U, Next” production duo] Social House is my opening act — you don’t think we’re going to have a studio on the bus? That we’re not going to be making records on the road? Of course we are. I want to be able to do what is authentic and honest and natural. It’s the only way that I’ve been able to survive.”
On getting involved in public romances: “This is how I meet people — I can’t just, like, meet someone at a bar. I live fast and full-out, and I make mistakes, and I learn from them and I’m grateful no matter what happens.”
