Elsie Fisher matches her red lips to her red purse for the 2019 Directors Guild Of America Awards held at The Ray Dolby Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland Center on Saturday (February 2) in Hollywood.
The 15-year-old Eighth Grade actress recently spoke with Backstage.com and shared her advice for young actors wanting to get into the business.
“Just do it if it’s something you wanna do,” Elsie shared. “You’re never an aspiring actor, you are an actor, you know? Like, if you wake up every morning and you wanna act, you’re an actor.”
“The most important thing is to find a job that you enjoy,” she added. “Do things that are important to you and you would enjoy doing.”
Elsie also encouraged young actors to try out their community theater.

Amandla just recently opened up about one of the most important scenes in The Hate U Give – where Chris tells Starr he doesn’t “see color”.
They shared that the sentiment “doesn’t cut it in today’s day and age.”
“Starr urges him to think critically about her experience as a black person,” Amandla adds. “And she explains to him why he can’t look at her without any lens of color because he has to think about how being black affects her everyday experiences. It affects her everyday life. It affects the way that she traverses the world.”

The 18-year-old actress was presented with the Breakthough Performance Award at the 2019 National Board of Review Awards Gala on Tuesday (January 8) at Cipriani in New York City.
Thomasin starred in last year’s movie Leave No Trace, which has a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Elsie Fisher was there to support her Eighth Grade director Bo Burnham, who won the Best Directorial Debut award. Co-star Josh Hamilton was there as well.

“This is just a wonderful night. It’s just like a magical event, so I’m just trying to savor every moment,” Elsie revealed about being able to attend the Golden Globe Awards over the weekend, where she was nominated.
She adds, “It’s insane! I would not have pictured myself here in a million years. But here we are. My life has completely changed.”
