Peyton List & 'Frequency' Cast Hit The CBS Summer TCA Party

Peyton List gets sandwiched in by Mekhi Phifer and Riley Smith at the CBS, CW, Showtime Summer TCA Party held at Pacific Design Center on Wednesday night (August 10) in West Hollywood, Calif.

The three Frequency co-stars met with other CBS stars at the annual soiree following the full day of panels at the TCA Summer Tour.

Frequency follows Detective Raimy Sullivan (List), who has always wanted to prove that she is nothing like her father. In 1996, when Raimy was eight years old, NYPD Officer Frank Sullivan (Smith) left Raimy and her mother, Julie, behind when he went deep undercover, got corrupted, and got himself killed. Or so the story has always gone.

Frank’s former partner, Lieutenant Satch Reyna (Phifer), is now Raimy’s mentor and friend, and he has urged her to let go of the hurt and anger she still feels about Frank’s disappearance and death, but the old pain still lingers. Twenty years later, Raimy is stunned when a voice suddenly crackles through her father’s old, long-broken ham radio it’s Frank, somehow transmitting over the airwaves and through the decades from 1996.

Frequency will premiere on October 5th. 15+ pics inside…

Supergirl, Frequency, & No Tomorrow Get Trailers at The CW - Watch Here!

Supergirl, Frequency, & No Tomorrow Get Trailers at The CW - Watch Here!

The fall line-up for The CW is looking good!

The network unveiled trailers for its new series – Supergirl (previously on CBS), Frequency, and No Tomorrow – during its upfront presentation on Thursday (May 19) in New York City.

Frequency tells the story of Detective Raimy Sullivan (Peyton List) who has always wanted to prove that she is nothing like her father. In 1996, when Raimy was eight years old, NYPD Officer Frank Sullivan (Riley Smith) left Raimy and her mother, Julie (Devin Kelley), behind when he went deep undercover, got corrupted, and got himself killed.

Now, twenty years later, Raimy is stunned when a voice suddenly crackles through her father’s old, long-broken ham radio it’s Frank, somehow transmitting over the airwaves and through the decades from 1996. They’re both shocked and confused, but Raimy shakes Frank to the core when she warns him that the secret sting he is undertaking will lead to his death.

No Tomorrow follows Evie Callahan (Tori Anderson), a risk-averse quality-control assessor, who appreciates order. Her on-again/off-again romance with the sweet, but soft-spoken Timothy (Jesse Rath) has sputtered out.

Then Evie meets charming, free-spirited Xavier Holliday (Joshua Sasse), and the attraction is immediate and electric. He brings a jolt of joyful, rollicking romance into her life. Xavier encourages Evie to carpe that diem, because it’s more fun that way and because, well, the apocalypse is, you know, nigh.

CW Cancels 'Containment'; Greenlights 'Riverdale' 'Frequency' & 'No Tomorrow'

The CW has greenlit three new series for the network including Archie Comics inspired, Riverdale.

The news comes just after Supergirl has moved networks from CBS to The CW.

Riverdale “is a surprising and subversive take on Archie (KJ Apa), Betty (Lili Reinhart), Veronica (Camila Mendes), Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse), Josie (Ashleigh Murray) and their friends, exploring the surrealism of small town life – the darkness and weirdness bubbling beneath Riverdale’s wholesome faade.”

Frequency and No Tomorrow also join the network.

No Tomorrow, which is based on a Brazilian format and follows a risk-averse, straight arrow, female procurement manager (Tori Anderson) at an Amazon-like distribution center who falls in love with a freewheeling man (Joshua Sasse) who lives life to the fullest. Together, they embargo on a quest to fulfill their individual bucket lists to comedic and poignant results.

Frequency is a reimagining of the New Line Cinema film. In a twist from the feature, it centers on a female police detective (Peyton E. List) who in 2016 discovers she is able to speak via a ham radio with her estranged father (also a detective) who died in 1996.
They forge a new relationship while working together on an unresolved murder case, but unintended consequences of the “butterfly effect” wreak havoc in the present day.

Meanwhile, the network also announced that freshman series Containment would not continue after this season.

The Tomorrow People's Peyton List Lands Lead Role in CW's 'Frequency' Pilot

The Tomorrow People's Peyton List Lands Lead Role in CW's 'Frequency' Pilot

Peyton List is set to star in the upcoming CW drama Frequency!

The 29-year-old actress, best known for her roles on The Tomorrow People and The Flash, will star opposite Riley Smith in the show based on Toby Emmerich‘s sci-fi thriller, according to Deadline.

The series will be written by Supernatural showrunner Jeremy Carver and “centers on Raimy (List), a female police detective in 2016 who discovers that she is able to speak via a ham radio with her estranged father, Frank Sullivan (Smith), also a detective, who died in 1996.”

“Seen in 1996, Frank Sullivan has been undercover for two years. The strain of the assignment effectively destroyed his marriage and separated him from his little girl, Raimy, but he gets a new chance at building a relationship with her when she begins communicating with him from 20 years in the future. The two forge a new relationship while working together on an unresolved murder case, but unintended consequences of the ‘butterfly effect’ wreak havoc in the present day.”

Congrats, Peyton!
