Olivia Colman will NOT be appearing in the upcoming third season of Heartstopper!
The Oscar-winning actress played Nick’s (Kit Connor) mom in the first two seasons, but unfortunately ran into some scheduling issues that didn’t allow for her to reprise her role this season.
“I couldn’t do number three. I couldn’t fit it in. I feel awful about that,” she told Forbes, adding, “I feel like I was part of one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever been part of.”
She did express interest in returning for season four, should the show get picked up.
“As long as it’s booked in advance, maybe I’ll be able to do it, yeah!” she added.
Producer Patrick Walters and creator/writer Alice Oseman addressed Olivia‘s exit and how it will affect the story in season three.

Joe Locke is opening up in a new interview about current and upcoming projects!
The 20-year-old actor is currently starring as Tobias in the musical Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street on Broadway, and coming up later this year, he has the Marvel series Agatha: Darkhold Diaries and the third season of Heartstopper.
While speaking on the Just for Variety podcast with Marc Malkin, Joe dished on making his Broadway debut, his Agatha chemistry read with Kathryn Hahn that became his favorite scene in the show and more.

Production has officially wrapped up for Season 3 of Heartstopper!
The popular Netflix series, based on Alice Oseman‘s graphic novels, premiered in 2022, and its second season arrived earlier this year to rave reviews.

The hit Netflix series will in fact be returning for another season, as it was picked up for two more seasons following the success of the first.
Production kicked off on the new season at the beginning of October and while there hasn’t been many updates, we did just find out this week that a new character, Michael Holden, is being added and the actor cast in the role has been revealed!

Heartstopper packs so much heartwarming content into every episode, but things have also gotten a little steamy from time to time.
That steaminess was put on display in the show’s newly released second season when Kit Connor‘s character Nick accidentally gives Joe Locke‘s Charlie a hickey while kissing in their shared hotel room.
In a recent interview, the show’s intimacy coordinator broke down shooting the scene and the funny reactions after Charlie discovers it the next day.
