Heather and Alan earned 33 points, out of 40, from the judges. The two performed an intense Tango to Britney Spears‘ “Toxic”.

Back in season 17 (fall 2013), Glee actress Amber Riley won the mirrored-ball trophy with Derek Hough on Dancing With The Stars.
Now her former co-star Heather Morris is competing for the same honor with partner Maksim Chmkerkovskiy.
In a recent interview, Heather revealed that Amber gave her advice for the show — and it’s some of the best!
“She was like, ‘Just be yourself, have fun with it, and really enjoy it,’” Heather revealed.
She adds, after finding out it was much more than she anticipated: “I expected it to be a lot. I was very aware that it was going to be a lot, and a lot of things are going fun. And it is. It’s a lot of things, and it’s a lot is going on. But it’s actually such a cool experience.”

Maksim Chmerkovskiy may be off his feet for a while, but he promises this won’t be the last we seen of him!
The Dancing With the Stars pro took to Instagram to cheer on his partner Heather Morris while he nurses a nasty calf injury.
“I’m so proud of @heatherrelizabethh for getting it done in an amazing fashion!” Maks wrote. “I’m sorry I couldn’t be next to you, but I promise to work harder than ever and get my ass back to the ballroom as soon as humanly possible!”
He continued, “HUGE (but not that huge) Thank You to @alanbersten for stepping in at the last second and doing a great job!”
“And finally, to all our fans… I’ve said in the beginning of the season that I was back because of how supportive you’ve always been to me and I promise that this isn’t the last you’ve seen of me,” Maks added. “I will make every effort to make you proud yet… In the mean time PLEASE VOTE FOR #teamMaksimumHeat !!!”

There was some controversy about Heather‘s breakdown in the middle with troupe dancers Hayley Erbert and Brittany Cherry. However, judge Julianne Hough liked it!

Even with the “unfair advantage” looming over them, Heather Morris and Maksim Chmerkovskiy were amazing on the season premiere of Dancing with the Stars.

Heather Morris and pro partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy look pretty amazing during their rehearsals for the first week of Dancing With The Stars.
The new practice pics were revealed today while the internet continued to argue about if Heather has an unfair advantage because of her professional backup dancer background.
“To say that we just have this massive advantage, I think so, but I don’t think we’re the only ones that could pull off beautiful, beautiful numbers,” Maks shared after the cast was first announced earlier this month.
He adds, “I’m ready for us to be scrutinized a little different and judged a little different and rightfully so, we’ll do our best.”
If you missed it, Heather and Maks will dance a Viennese Waltz to “Make Something Beautiful” by Ben Rector.
