Mae Whitman will not be appearing in the highly anticipated film Independence Day 2, since her role has been filled by Maika Monroe.
The decision has enraged many fans, such as Anna Kendrick, who expected to see Mae reprise her role as former first daughter Patricia Whitmore.

“What the actual f–k? @maebirdwing is talented as hell, and JUST proved she can carry a film. Smh,” Anna tweeted.
In the Roland Emmerich-directed film, Patricia is set to romance Liam Hemsworth‘s character.

It was just announced that the 21-year-old actress has been cast as Ringer in the upcoming film “The Fifth Wave,” based on Rick Yancey‘s bestselling YA novel.

Also starring Chloe Moretz and Nick Robinson, the film is about 16-year-old Cassie Sullivan, who tries to survive in a world devastated by the waves of an alien invasion that has already decimated the population and knocked mankind back to the Stone Age.
