Maitreyi Ramakrishnan has landed her second project at Netflix!

It was just announced on Wednesday (June 2) that she will star in The Netherfield Girls movie.

According to Variety, the movie is “a romantic comedy with literary pedigree. The movie is described as a ‘fresh and contemporary’ take on Pride and Prejudice in the spirit of the Emma Stone teen comedy Easy A and 10 Things I Hate About You.”

The 2021 MTV Movie & TV Awards nominations have just been revealed!

The annual show will be a two night event this year, taking place on Sunday, May 16th, and Monday, May 17th, and feature 25 gender-neutral categories.

Nominees include Zendaya for Best Performance in a Movie for Malcolm & Marie, Addison Rae and Charli D’Amelio for Breakthrough Social Star and To All the Boys: Always and Forever for Best Movie.

Voting for the awards begins NOW through April 30th at vote.mtv.com!

Netflix Shares First Look Photos at Upcoming 'Never Have I Ever' Season 2!

The second season of Never Have I Ever is just around the corner!

Netflix just revealed the first look at the upcoming season of the series, which stars Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Darren Barnet, Ramona Young, Lee Rodriguez, Poorna Jagannathan, Richa Moorjani and Jaren Lewison. Mindy Kaling created the series and continues to serve as executive producer, alongside Lang Fisher, who also serves as showrunner and writer.

In season two, Devi (Ramakrishnan) continues to deal with the everyday pressures of high school and drama at home, while also navigating new romantic relationships.

Tyler Alvarez joined the cast in the recurring role of Malcolm. Find out more about his character here!

It was also just revealed that Common will be joining the cast as Dr. Chris Jackson, a suave and debonair dermatologist who works in Nalini’s (Jagannathan) building. His high-end practice and celebrity clients are impressive to everyone — except Nalini.

Elle Fanning & Maitreyi Ramakrishnan Get Nominated For Film Independent Spirit Awards!

The 2021 Film Independent Spirit Awards nominations have been revealed!

Elle Fanning and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan are among the TV nominees this year. They are both up against each other in the Best Female Performance in a Scripted Series for their work in The Great and Never Have I Ever, respectively.

The upcoming awards are usually held the night before the Oscars, but due to pandemic shakeups, they’re actually taking place three days before on April 22nd.

While the awards normally only cover feature films, this year, they have added television categories.

“2020 was Hell on earth, but one glorious lifeline these past months has been the ability to watch so many great films and shows,” Film Independent president Josh Welsh said in a statement, via THR. “In an unbelievably challenging year, this year’s Spirit Award nominees inspired us, connected us, and have been a source of urgently needed light in the darkness. Even though we’re still stuck at home, let’s come together to celebrate this great work!”

The annual Teen Vogue 21 Under 21 list has been revealed!

Actresses Lexi Underwood and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan are among the honorees this year, which recognizes the girls and femmes who are building a better future.

Past honorees include Chloe x Halle, Marsai Martin, Josie Totah, Hunter Schafer, Anna Cathcart, Lachlan Watson and more.

The 2020 list also includes ‘Savage’ dance creator Keara Wilson, Indigenous climate activist Quannah Chasinghorse, STEM pioneer Karina Popovich, Anika Chebrolu, who invented a potential therapy for COVID-19 and more.

“If one of my posts, Zoom meetings, speeches, or conversations have changed at least one person’s heart, enhanced the education of someone… or even made someone feel validated and seen, then the seed has been successfully planted. Through our collective work, I’m hopeful that we’ll see change,” Lexi told the site.

“No matter where you want to create change, you’ve got to start with yourself. Do your research and dive deep,” Maitreyi shared. “Really be confident in yourself, the idea that you can make change, and just be your own best friend. Support and be kind to yourself through whatever you are facing.”

Maitreyi Ramakrishnan Accepts Award for Best TV Show of the Year for 'Never Have I Ever' at PCAs 2020!

Maitreyi Ramakrishnan is a winner!

The 18-year-old actress attended the 2020 E! People’s Choice Awards on Sunday (November 15) where her show Never Have I Ever won Comedy Show of 2020.

“Thank you so much for believing in us,” Maitreyi said while accept the award. “It’s amazing to see how the show connected with people of color, LGBTQIA+, immigrant communities and more from all around the world.”

Joining Maitreyi on stage was Mindy Kaling, who created the comedy show for Netflix.

Over the summer, it was announced that Never Have I Ever had been renewed for a second season.

Never Have I Ever is coming back for another season!

It was just revealed that the Netflix series is coming back for a second season.

Star Maitreyi Ramakrishnan shared the news with her cast mates in a funny new Zoom call video.

Every time someone new hopped on the call, they all commented on Maitreyi‘s new bangs.

“NHIE SEASON TWO!🧡 There are so many more important things than my bangs😅🎉 Can’t believe this is happening you guys. Season two here we come🧡,” she captioned the video on Instagram.

Never Have I Ever is a coming-of-age comedy about the complicated life of a modern-day first-generation Indian American teenage girl, Devi, who is an overachieving high school sophomore who has a short fuse that gets her into difficult situations.

Poorna Jagannathan, Richa Moorjani, Jaren Lewison, Darren Barnet, Lee Rodriguez and Ramona Young are all set to return as well.
