Jo Ellen Pellman and Ariana DeBose hold hands in the just released official trailer for their upcoming movie The Prom!

The newcomer and the Broadway star join an all star cast in the upcoming Netflix movie musical adaptation of the Broadway show.

Also in the cast are Meryl Streep, James Corden, Nicole Kidman, Andrew Rannells, Keegan-Michael Key, Kerry Washington, Kevin Chamberlain and more.

Here’s a synopsis: Dee Dee Allen (Streep) and Barry Glickman (Corden) are New York City stage stars with a crisis on their hands: their expensive new Broadway show is a major flop that has suddenly flatlined their careers. Meanwhile, in small-town Indiana, high school student Emma Nolan (Pellman) is experiencing a very different kind of heartbreak: despite the support of the high school principal (Key), the head of the PTA (Washington) has banned her from attending the prom with her girlfriend, Alyssa (DeBose).

When Dee Dee and Barry decide that Emma’s predicament is the perfect cause to help resurrect their public images, they hit the road with Angie (Kidman) and Trent (Rannells), another pair of cynical actors looking for a professional lift. But when their self-absorbed celebrity activism unexpectedly backfires, the foursome find their own lives upended as they rally to give Emma a night where she can truly celebrate who she is.

The Prom, produced and directed by Ryan Murphy, will premiere on Netflix and in select theaters on December 11th!

Billie Lourd looks gorgeous while making a red carpet appearance alongside her mom Carrie Fisher at the 2015 Governors Awards on Saturday night (November 14) at the Ray Dolby Ballroom in Hollywood.

The 23-year-old actress, who plays Chanel #3 on Scream Queens, was at the event to accept her grandmother Debbie Reynolds‘ honorary Oscar as she was too sick to attend. The award was presented by Meryl Streep!

“I’m heartbroken that I’m unable to be there in person to receive this extraordinary honor you have given me. So you could see how unbelievably happy you have made me. If joy could be weighed, this would be the most sizable rejoicing one could feel, especially if that one is me,” Debbie said in a statement.

Dakota Fanning & Freida Pinto Support 'India's Daughter' Doc at New York Screening!

Dakota Fanning & Freida Pinto Support 'India's Daughter' Doc at New York Screening!

Dakota Fanning, Freida Pinto, and Meryl Streep strike a pose as they arrive at the screening for India’s Daughter held at the Baruch College on Monday (March 9) in New York City.

The three ladies got together to light about a dozen candles honoring the documentary, which is about a medical student who died in India after being gang-raped on a bus in 2012.

“Tonight we light these candles to honor the value and the work of Jyoti Singh‘s short, promising life,” Meryl said at the event (via ChicagoTribune). “She was India’s daughter. Tonight she’s our daughter too.”

“Ultimately, this is a film that needs to go out. This is not a shame-India documentary,” Freida continued. “This is not just an India problem; this is a problem that inflicts almost every country in the world. There’s not a single country in 2015 that is free of sexual violence against women.”

Also pictured: Dakota spotted chatting on her cellphone while out and about in the SoHo neighborhood of New York City.
