The 28-year-old figure skater spoke with Access Hollywood after the show earlier this week about Mirai and her partner, Alan Bersten, being eliminated from the competition.
“When we heard our name, the first thing I thought was ‘come on, Mirai,’” Adam revealed.
“He screamed for a second and then he stopped,” Jenna Johnson chimed in. “I was like ‘are you okay?’ and he was still saying her name. I could tell he was really thinking about it.”
Adam continues, “I am hurting for her so much right now. I wouldn’t be able to make it to this point if it wasn’t for her and everything that we went through – all of the traveling and all of the touring. She’s such a good friend of mine…it’s really hard.”
Mirai Nagasu holds onto boyfriend Darian Weiss tight as he gives her a piggyback ride at The Grove on Monday night (May 14) in Los Angeles.
The 25-year-old figure skater met up with Darian for a bite to eat after being eliminated from Dancing With The Stars with partner Alan Bersten just a few hours before.
“Thank you to everyone for cheering me on during this journey,” Mirai shared on her Twitter after the show. “I had such a great time and am so grateful for all of your support.”
She added, “Although I would have loved another week of dancing with @Dance10Alan I know that what’s most important is the experience I had and the friends I made.”
Alan also shared a message to fans on his Instagram after the show.
“To say I’m proud of you is an understatement. @mirainagasu thank you for inspiring me and having so much fun with me!” he wrote. “You deserve to be in that final! Thank you to all of our fans who voted for us every week!! I hope we made you guys proud! Thank you ❤️ #teamfireiceandspice forever.”
Team Fire, Ice and Spice, were dressed all in glittering gold for their Quickstep, set to “Bo$$” by Fifth Harmony, which was performed by Ray Chew Live. They picked up 35 points out of 40 for their performance.
The team tied with Adam‘s BFF Mirai Nagasu and her partner, Alan Bersten, with 37 points before performing a team dance together.
Speaking with People after the show, Adam and Jenna revealed their plans to have a double date with both of their boyfriends – Jussi-Pekka Kajaala and Val Chmerkovskiy – after the show is over.
“We promised each other we’d do a double date right when he gets here,” Jenna shared, before both of them said that dancing would not be in the cards.
Adam adds, “[We’ll] probably be taking a break, but having a good time.”

The 25-year-old figure skater made it through to the next week of competition, earning 23 points for her Salsa dance.
Speaking in a recent interview, Mirai revealed that she did get advice from Meryl Davis and Charlie White about doing both the show and the Stars on Ice tour at the same time.
“Meryl said it is going to be really exhausting, but it is going to be so much fun, so take it all in,” she says. “Charlie said to just have fun and be myself and I think I’m staying real with that.”
Mirai adds, “I feel like I have been taking their advice.”
Meryl and Charlie both competed during season 18, just after the 2014 Olympics, and Meryl won.
