Lily Collins hits up the press line for her new movie The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones during the 2013 San Diego Comic-Con held at Hilton Bayfront on Friday afternoon (July 19) in San Diego, Calif.
The 24-year-old actress was joined by her cast mates Kevin Zegers, Jamie Campbell Bower, Robert Sheehan and Godfrey Gao plus author Cassandra Clare and direcotr Harald Zwart.
“For me, going into that room, where you [Lily] had already been cast – it’s such a big deal going in for a screen test for a major movie. I went on to the lot, and there I am on the lot going for an audition, and I was going, ‘Oh god, this is just going to be a disaster,’” Jamie shared about his audition with MTV. I didn’t feel right for it at all.”
He added, “And then the moment I got there, I felt sort of comfortable around you. I felt really just sort of like we’d known each other for years.”

Lily Collins joins author Cassandra Clare for a book signing at Barnes and Noble in Los Angeles on Thursday night (March 21).
The 24-year-old actress was on hand to help Cassandra sign copies of her new novel, “Clockwork Princess”.

“I love the stories,” Lily shared with MTV of her Mortal Instruments character. “I love Clary because she’s this heroine who’s this normal girl, who finds out she has these powers.”
She added of the film, which debuts in August, “The emotion is there. It’s not just a CGI world. It’s not just a translation of a book. It’s more emotionally, character-based than just aesthetically beautiful.”

Talking with Collider recently, Lily opened up about Jamie Campbell Bower‘s audition for Jace for The Mortal Instruments: The City of Bones.
“He had this perfect mixture of being this witty, kind of jokey, cocky in the best sense of the word, but also extremely vulnerable, emotional and this great mixture of emotions. And that’s what Jace is. He has to walk in a room and make people turn their heads and that’s what Jamie does,” she shared.
Lily added, “He just brought everything to the room that day. And he left and I just turned to everyone and was like, ‘I really don’t know what else you could be looking for. That’s Jace.’”

“We’ve been shooting in all different locations here [in Toronto]. We just finished week three and I think we’ve hit every part of the movie already in three weeks, we’ve gone from early Clary to shadowhunter Clary and back again and we’re doing all the action, all the stunts,” Lily recently told MTV about filming. “I’m a little sick because we’ve been shooting nights. But the fans have come out every night, it’s so nice to have the support. I’m finally a redhead, finally working on the project, it’s been amazing.”
