Crazy, but true: the 21-year-old K-pop star made the surprising revelation during the Love Yourself: Her MNET comeback special Comeback Show DNA, which aired on Thursday (September 21).
“There were many people who opposed me,” Jimin revealed during the special according to AllKPop.
Other BTS members soon chimed in to confirm: “He almost got cut two days before our official debut.”
“But BTS is complete because of me,” he added. “After I left everything behind and moved up to Seoul from Busan, I struggled and was scared because I didn’t know how I’ll end up.”
By now, you’ve listened to BTS new album, Love Yourself: Her, about 5,000 times, but what you don’t know about it is that there are secret songs on it!
Rap Monster revealed in the group’s live stream earlier this week that one of his favorite songs is called “Ocean”, but it’s not on the digital copies.
However, it IS on the physical album, plus another secret song too.
“It’s one of two hidden tracks you can listen to only on the physical album,” he shared with ET. “‘Ocean’ has a lot of things I thought about since my debut in BTS four years ago.”
He adds, “I have lived through many different dreams, worries and emotions in past years and I wanted to share those moments in the song. Sound-wise, there’s guitar and synth and the song is over five minutes, which is quite long. I hope people like it as one of the surprises I’ve prepared.”
Since the K-Pop group dropped their new record, Love Yourself: Her, on Monday (September 18), they’ve already topped the iTunes album charts at No. 1 in an incredible 73 countries – the largest debut for any South Korean artist according to teir agency, Big Hit Entertainment. Major!
The album’s lead single “DNA” also debuted at No. 4 in the United States, as well as entering the iTunes Top Songs Chart in 29 countries.
Plus, with physical orders being tracked for the first time in North America, the group is anticipated to make their highest debut yet on the Billboard charts.
And that’s not all: the music video for “DNA” already has 20 million views in less than 24 hours, making it the fastest K-Pop video of all time to do so.
Congratulations, boys! The A.R.M.Y. is surely proud!
The one-minute clip finds the group’s youngest member, Jungkook, whistling a melody until meeting up with the other band members.
Together, they perform a split-second of the new song’s choreography and it already looks incredible.
