Cody Christian suits up for the 2018 CW Network Upfront held at The London Hotel on Thursday morning (May 17) in New York City.
The former Teen Wolf actor stars in the network’s new series, All-American, which centers on a high school football player from South Central L.A. who is recruited to play for Beverly Hills High and the wins, losses and struggles of two families from different worlds.
The Teen Wolf actor was recently cast alongside 13 Reasons Why‘s Samantha in the drama pilot.
Directed by Rob Hardy, the project is “inspired by the life of pro football player Spencer Paysinger and produced by L.A. Galaxy soccer player Robbie Rogers. It centers on a rising high school football player from South Central L.A. When he is recruited to play for Beverly Hills High, the wins, losses and struggles of two families from vastly different worlds — Compton and Beverly Hills — begin to collide,” Deadline reports.
Cody will play Asher: “Oozing golden-boy privilege and arrogance, Asher is the current wide receiver for the Beverly Hills High football team. Despite his swagger, he has a troubled home life, and he is threatened by Spencer’s untimely arrival.”

The new recruits will be recurring and be introduced as new students, and also more mature characters like a litigator.
Anne will play Chloe, the beautiful “it girl” at liberty high and the new head cheerleader; Bryce is Cyrus, an edgy, cynical mischief maker who serves as an unexpected champion of the downtrodden; and Chelsea is Cyrus’ sister, who is described as an artsy and witty girl who isn’t afraid to speak her mind.
Samantha will play Nina, a well respected track star with a secret. Kelli is Jackie, a warm, intelligent, passionate advocate for victims of bullying; while Ben will play the beloved baseball coach at Liberty High.
Allison is the aforementioned litigator Sonya, a smart and ambitious young litigator.
