The Secret Life of The American Teenager ended back in 2013, but we’re still not over how it ended.

While doing press for her new movie Adrift, Shailene Woodley opened up about the ABC Family show and confessed that she was Team Ricky (Daren Kagasoff) all the way.

“I just feel like he came around,” the 26-year-old actress shared with Buzzfeed. “He discovered that he wasn’t perhaps the most supportive father in the beginning but recognized his mistakes and I’m all about forgiveness.”

Shailene added, “I’d like to think that if I were in Amy’s shoes, I would find forgiveness in order to create a happy little family for my child.”

As for any reboot or spinoff ideas – she has some!

“Maybe we can make an Adult Swim version of The Secret Life of the American Teenager? I might consider that — I think that could be a funny spin-off!”

The 26-year-old Adrift actress spoke about almost leaving Hollywood, living a minimalist lifestyle, and more. Here’s what she shared…

On why she almost quit acting before Big Little Lies: “There was a point in my life, right before Big Little Lies, where I had hit a wall with acting. I felt it was time to do something different. I called my agents and said, ‘Please don’t send me any more scripts; I need to explore other avenues.’ They respected me and didn’t send me anything for almost a year until Big Little Lies. I didn’t know what it was or who was involved, I just said, ‘Thanks, I’m still not interested.’ [Then] I read it, fell in love with it, and Laura [Dern], who I had worked with on The Fault in Our Stars, called me and that was really the push.”

On previously not wanting to do magazine covers as a kid: “When I was seven, I said, ‘The day I’m on the cover of a magazine I’m going to quit,’ because I never wanted this industry to get in the way of my life.”

On living a minimalist life: “I lived a very minimalistic life for many years – toothbrush, deodorant, two pairs of jeans, a pair of leggings for yoga, sweater and jacket, really bare essentials. I was a very serious woman for so long, I didn’t allow myself the frivolous nature of being a human being and having human experiences.”

Shailene and co-star Sam Claflin, as well as director Baltasar Kormákur, discussed their thrilling new film, which is based on a true story.

Here’s a plot summary: Tami Oldham (Woodley) and Richard Sharp (Claflin) couldn’t anticipate they would be sailing directly into one of the most catastrophic hurricanes in recorded history. In the aftermath of the storm, Tami awakens to find Richard badly injured and their boat in ruins. With no hope for rescue, Tami must find the strength and determination to save herself and the only man she has ever loved.

Shailene Woodley is opening up about dating her boyfriend Ben Volavola!

The 26-year-old Fault in Our Stars actress visited Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday (May 23) in Los Angeles and let fans know what it’s been like spending time with the the 27-year-old Fijian rugby player.

“I knew nothing about rugby [before meeting him],” she said. “And then I went to a rugby game while we were shooting [Adrift] in Fiji.”

“It’s quite barbaric,” she continued. “He literally throws himself at another grown man who’s running full-speed towards him. And he loves it. It’s confusing, I don’t get it.”

“It’s fun watch,” she added with a laugh.

ICYMI, Shailene and Ben made their red carpet debut that same day at the premiere of her new movie Adrift, set to hit theaters on June 1!

The 26-year-old actress made her red carpet debut with her boyfriend, rugby player Ben Volavola, at the event. She was also joined by co-star Sam Claflin, who you likely know as Finnick from The Hunger Games movies.

Adrift tells the inspiring true story of two avid sailors who set out on a journey across the ocean, but couldn’t anticipate they would be sailing directly into one of the most catastrophic hurricanes in recorded history. It hits theaters on June 1.

Shailene and her Adrift co-star Sam Claflin recently opened up about the chemistry between them in their new movie.

“We had to really work at it,” Sam joked to E! News. “I went to drama school and three years of good training taught me how to pretend to like somebody.”

“I think we’re very very similar people and have very similar beliefs and work in this very similar way and you can’t ask for a better co-star really—can you, Shailene?” he added.

“We laughed a lot and we cried a lot and we supported each other a lot,” Shailene chimed in.

The two actors starred together in several movies and they were back together on the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday night (May 7) in New York City.

Ansel and Shailene played brother and sister in the Divergent movies and they played a couple in the hit film The Fault in Our Stars. They even wore the same designer to the event!
