The animated Star Wars universe is about to get bigger!
Disney+ announced on Monday morning (July 13) that a new spinoff of Star Wars: The Clone Wars is in the works, title Star Wars: The Bad Batch.
The new series will follow the elite and experimental clones of the Bad Batch (first introduced in The Clone Wars) as they find their way in a rapidly changing galaxy in the immediate aftermath of the Clone War.
Members of Bad Batch – a unique squad of clones who vary genetically from their brothers in the Clone Army — each possess a singular exceptional skill which makes them extraordinarily effective soldiers and a formidable crew.
In the post-Clone War era, they will take on daring mercenary missions as they struggle to stay afloat and find new purpose.
“Giving new and existing fans the final chapter of Star Wars: The Clone Wars has been our honor at Disney+, and we are overjoyed by the global response to this landmark series,” Agnes Chu, senior vice president, Content, Disney+, said in a statement. “While the Clone Wars may have come to its conclusion, our partnership with the groundbreaking storytellers and artists at Lucasfilm Animation is only beginning. We are thrilled to bring Dave Filoni’s vision to life through the next adventures of the Bad Batch.”
Star Wars: The Bad Batch will premiere on Disney+ in 2021!
With the addition of the latest movie, the entire Star Wars saga will be available to stream for the first time ever in one place, starting with Star Wars: A New Hope. All nine films, plus the TV shows including The Mandalorian, as well as Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian was announced last week with a May 4th premiere date.
Executive Producer Jon Favreau invites the cast and crew to share an unprecedented look at the making of the series which quickly became a pop culture phenomenon.
Each chapter explores a different facet of the first live-action Star Wars television show through interviews, never-before-seen footage, and roundtable conversations hosted by Favreau.
“Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian is an opportunity for fans of the show to take a look inside and get to see a different perspective, and perhaps a greater understanding, of how The Mandalorian came together and some of the incredibly talented contributors throughout Season 1,” Jon said in a statement. “We had a great experience making the show and we’re looking forward to sharing it with you.”

We just got a first look at Disneyland‘s new Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance ride and we’ve got to say – it’s amazing!
The highly anticipated attraction officially opened its doors on Friday (January 17) at the park in Anaheim, Calif.
While fans lined up starting in the early hour of the morning, we got a special sneak peek at the ride the day before doors were open to the public!
The brand new ride marks Disney’s most ambitious and immersive attraction to date and arguably tops the classic Star Tours ride in Tomorrowland and the more recent Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run ride.
On Rise of the Resistance, you’re part of the Resistance on a mission to escape from the First Order and their leader Kylo Ren. One of Disney’s longest ride yet, the full experience for this epic ride clocks in at around 15 minutes as it takes you through several immersive scenes to a final ride sequence at the end.
Fans begin the ride in a resistance transport ship before getting captured by a First Order Star Destroyer ship. There, you are met by First Order officers who whisk you away to a very claustrophobic detention room before you are rescued by resistance fighters who break you out. The resistance transport whizzes through the First Order destroyer as you make your way to an escape pod.
The ride marks the completion ‘Galaxy’s Edge’ located inside Disneyland Park, joining Disney World in Florida which opened ‘Rise of the Resistance’ a few weeks ago.
Overall, the ride is an incredible feat of Disney Imagineering’s team, showcasing their amazing accomplishments and innovations. It’s not one to miss!
Be sure to check out ‘Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance’, now open at Disneyland in California.
