Bradie Tennell is a huge fan of Supernatural and actually screamed after seeing the stars of the CW series give her a shoutout after making the Olympic team.
The 20-year-old figure skater (already a bronze medalist with the team event) is gearing up to compete in the Ladies’ Figure Skating events next week, but took some time out to talk about her obsession with the show.
She admits that she only started really watching in season 9: “I’ve been a fan of the show for much longer than that, but was too scared to watch it when I was younger.”
“I fell in love with Supernatural because of the characters,” she tells Changing Channels. “I just love how the brothers would do literally anything to keep the other safe, and how that is both a positive and a negative in the storyline.”
Bradie adds, “I also have two brothers myself, so I think Sam and Dean remind me of them a bit. Plus, they’re just so funny.”
She also opened up about getting that supporting tweet from the cast.
“I had just finished working out and went to check my phone and it was blowing up because so many of my friends were sending the picture to me,” Bradie recalls. “I thought it was so cool that they took time out of their day to post that for me. It literally made my week.”
Supernatural‘s backdoor pilot will kick off with a familiar phrase to all die-hard fans: “Sam and Dean are missing. They were on a hunting trip, and I haven’t heard from them in a few days”.
The backdoor pilot kicks off with Claire (Kathryn Newton) returning home to Sioux Falls and Jody (Kim Rhodes) when the guys go missing. She reunites with Alex Jones (Katherine Ramdeen), who has stayed behind with Jody and tries to balance a “normal” life with being a part time hunter.
“I don’t want to separate things into, This is a masculine thing and this is a feminine thing, because people and characters are way more dynamic than that,” Katherine told Elle about the episode, but promises that “people can expect the same type of badassery [that's in] Supernatural.”
Clark Backo, Yadira Guevara-Prip and Briana Buckmaster will also star.
While spilling untold secrets about the series, Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins also revealed that there would be a Scooby Doo themed episode this season!
“It’s going to be an episode of Supernatural with Scooby-Doo in it,” co-showrunner and EP Andrew Dabb says. “It’s not going to be an episode of Scooby-Doo with the guys in it.”
He adds, “It’s more adult than your average episode of Scooby-Doo.”
Supernatural returns on Thursday @ 9PM ET/PT on The CW.
The Supernatural family is one of the best fandoms ever — and we now have a big receipt to prove it.
Fans, along with stars Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, Misha Collins, their families and organizations have raised over $225,000 for families and victims of Hurricane Harvey.
The fundraiser was put together with help from Jensen‘s Texas-based company, Family Business Beer Company, and Misha‘s charity, Random Acts.
The original goal was only $50,000, but because the Supernatural fandom is THAT amazing, they surpassed that super fast.
The campaign is open until Friday and will support local organizations around Houston including Americares and The Texas Diaper Bank.
The actor, who you might recognize as Anarky on Arrow, will be starring on the long-running show as Jack, Lucifer’s son.
EW reports that the half-angel, half-human character will be a regular in the upcoming season 13.
“Born literally yesterday, Jack struggles to understand the world he’s brought into and the family that has taken him in (Sam and Dean Winchester) while he wrestles with his place in the world,” his character description reads.
