“I think for any band, I think it’s very difficult to always sustain a certain level,” Tom told BBC. “I think when we came in with a number one single (“All Time Low”), you set a precedent then to stay at number one. And when you don’t stay at number one, the critics are like ‘Well, that’s the fall of The Wanted‘. Mmmm, it’s not really. It’s just very difficult to stay there. Do you know what I mean, and it is.”
“We spent a lot time mastering this album and it took us ages to get it out,” Siva shared about the release date for the LP getting pushed back many times. “The fans had to wait ages. We put it back and put it back to the point where we’ve released it on the busiest week of the year!”
“There’s a lot of personal stuff – relationships, breakups, being away from home – and i think it shines through,” Tom told MTV. “It’s a lot more musical too, more band-y – more live strings and guitar.”
The Wanted stop to pose together before their performance at the MLB Fan Cave on Tuesday (November 5) in New York City.
The night before, the guys – Nathan Sykes, Max George, Siva Kanaswaran, Tom Parker, and Jay McGuiness – made stops at The Late Show with David Letterman, Live! With Kelly & Michael, and Watch What Happens Live! to promote their new album Word of Mouth.
“It took us two years to make and hopefully it’s good. I think it’s our best album yet and we really are genuinely proud of it,” Max shared about their new record on the program.
